What the fuck have I been doing? Oh yea, making potions that can take down city guards in 15 seconds. oOo:[/quote:a3424] Man, I've been travelling from place to place for quests and I keep discovering a buncha caves, forts, ruins and oblivion gates: I have yet to go into any of the non-main-plot gates yet... I basically just alternate the main story with the mage guild quests. I have so many dungeons and shit to explore, I wanna simultaneously cry and jump for joy. :P |
I've hit up 4 non-quest gates, they're pretty nice. I picked up a lot of nice loot and the sigil stones are excellent enchantments.
|
I am now the grandmaster of the fighters guild. didn't take too long. if you do fighters guild quests only it would probably take 6 hours straight. I now get to tell my second in command what were going to focus on each month and a share of fighters guild profits come directly to him and i. pretty sweet.
|
What quests? I've been to virtually every town and only one ever had anybody in the fighters guild offering quests.
|
you have to join the fighters guild. then you report to different guys and they give you contracts.
go into a fighters guild building and ask to jon the fighters guild. then the guy will direct you to who does the recruiting. |
I have been the entire time but I've still only been able to get one quest involving rats.
|
you have to go talk to azan in anvil, oren in choryl or the orc in chydenhal. those guys give the contracts and duties. once you finish a duty you have to report back. then you can ask for another one.
|
i just *cough* bought this and it runs pretty sweet on my rig ive been inside the whole time im sure it may lag when i go outside, i never would have guessed i would like this game as much as i do

Magic the Gathering is pimp. I can still say that having first played it nearly a decade ago. Its really the FIRST card-strategy game to come out that actually does it right. I havent kept up with it in YEARS - but I definitely wouldnt have a problem going down to the local comic book shop and playing a couple of hands. I remember the first "deck" I had - was like 60 cards, with about 10-15 mana cards in the entire deck.
After 33 hours of play - I just stepped into my second quest related dungeon. After looking at my house in Bruma, with about 300 pickpocketed keys and some pretty swank furniture, I realize what Ive been doing all this time. . . Seriously I think every quest Ive had has been city related (including some Dark Brotherhood quests). And did anyone else kill Grathlir's "enemies" and collect the 1000 dollar reward? And man what I wouldnt give for some Journey Alchemy supplies right now. Sorta frustrating not being able to make spells related to your level. |

For all you shady types. I haven't tried it myself since I usually just go in and stab things but it sounds useful. |

Now, it's either the Fighter's guild or Thieves guild... didn't decide yet. I'm just wondering how becoming a member of the latter will affect my standing in the Mage's guild ?? |

DB quests are great - and if you have a pretty good sneak/security skill - you can steal some wicked items from your "contact" in the DB (if you dont get caught). Of course the loot is dependent on your level - so if you've already got good shit from being Fighters Guild head - I wouldnt expect much. Off to find those 100 Artifacts. beer: |
I'm stuck on the first Oblivion gate......the one where you have to find the kings son. Ive been in the towers in there cant seem to get to the higher floors cause the doors are locked :S
|
you have to suck off the guards to get past,
crouch down in front of them and use ur action key. |
Alright, my bro likes RPGs like Jade Empire, Fable, FF, KOTOR, etc.. He played Elder Scolls 3, Morrowind, but he hated it. Is Oblivion a lot like morrowind, or is it different enough that he might like it?
also, I have a 3ghz, 1.5 gb ram, GF6800, would my computer run the game? (and I don't care about high quality, I just want average quality that will run smoothly)[/url:73d5c] |
I know this is getting asked allot but just curious what you guys think how well my system will run Oblivion??
AMD Athlon 3800+ 2 GIGS of DDR 3200 Geforce 7800 GTX 256mb Hoping to run it on high settings, we'll see though when I get back from the field. |
Zap your PC will run it on its highest settings I'd imagine and c312 your PC is also in a great position, similar to mine cept the 3d card. I'm running on my Radeon 9800 pro and it plays relatively smoothly with most things on medium, my new video card arrives wed/thursday this week.
Jesus Christ I love the music in this game, so great and you can actually buy it on CD too. BTW if you want to save screenshots, heres how: open the oblivion.ini file from here - C:\Documents and Settings\your name\My Documents\My Games\Oblivion set 0 to 1 in this line: bAllowScreenShot=0 and it should save your shots in Bitmap format in your: 'C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion' folder ....altho i don't think it saved all of my screenshots i took. |
Doing it that way - I was only ever able to save 10 screenshots before it started overwriting. I just use fraps. . .takes insta screens and I can make mini movies out of cool sequences. . .
Or just use the movie recorder I guess. |
did any of you guys find the unicorn? by buddy found it for the 360 verison
|
No - and if u wish to tell us do so in small lettering thanks.
Anyone know where I can find a LOW LEVEL mysticism spell? Even after buying them from mages guild - I cant create a low level spell to use to level up. Fucking frustrating. Leyawiin is supposed to be the place for Mystic spells but nothing they sell is under level 25. |
No, and I'm having that same problem. I didn't realize how difficult it would be to level mysticism until 25 so now I'm pretty much screwed out in that department.
|
Ok well I think I figured out my problem. . .I guess these fuckers have "hours" they are going to sell shit to you. So by CHANCE I spoke to the Dark Elf npc and she had the spell sell icon active. Finally leveled up to be able to buy Soul Trap.
hake: That was annoying. Thank god mysticism isnt tied to my major or Id be fucked in a useless dept. |
how in the hell do you take screen shots?
|

I have a Wood Elf archer who was born under the thief sign ^_^ Steel Bow + Steel Arrows, but still takes like 4 arrows to kill one of those troll things. |
I'm a marksman. I can kill pretty much anything in one shot with my silver bow and arrows in sneak attack mode. In normal mode I can kill most creatures and people in two shots no problem.
Here's a tip for everyone: When you get to Cloud Ruler Temple don't put your stuff in the chests by the beds. After a few days your stuff will be gone. I guess the contents of the chests regenerate automatically every once in a while. I lost a whole suit of armour and some pretty nice weapons inclusing a daedric claymore. Probably lost 5,000 septims worth of stuff. Obligatory Hero Shots: Post your hero shots. |
I tried climbing on a horse and was accused of thievery...
|
Yeah...well that's beacuse you either haev to buy one or be given one...beacuse talking someone elses horse is stealing. If the action thingy in the middle of your screen is red...that means youre doing something wrong.
The horse i'm riding in that picture I just purchased. Cost me a pretty penny at 5000 septims, however it is the fastest and second strongest in all of Cyrodil. The Black horse can only be purchased at the stables in Cheydinhal. Oh god i'm starting to talk like the characters in the game. |
yeh i know..i stole a nice two handed sword and shield from some dude's tent...
|
You make me feel like taking screenshots of my old fart magician... biggrin:
|
this game looks fun, i tried morrowind for a couple of hours at a friends house, the content was pretty impressive.
|
I saw that this thread had like 14 pages of info and I felt that it needed a touch of Coleman.
I have no idea what you're all talking about though. |
