Because he was talking to his own people and we have seen the controls for the sonic fence and they have varying strength levels.

hmmmm ... true. But didn't they check his pulse when they thought he was dead? Maybe when the Russian woke up and realized he wasn't dead he assumed the setting was low. Maybe the island healed him and he didn't know he really had been dead.


on the other hand maybe Locke his the only one that the island heals. The island healed his legs so maybe it will heal his belly.

locke got shot in the exact area where his kidney would be - if his father would not of stolen it - so the damage wont be much and i guess he heals all good because the season finale is between locke and jack.


and fuck jack he is a little chubby tosser - it is all about locke rock:

but the kidney is in the back, the bullet would have to go through other organs to get to it, most likely his stomach or pancreas from where it looked like he got hit.

There was a flash of scottish dude at the end of the previews. Maybe he wakes up and swims down to save Charlie. The preview looked like he was in the underwater thing maybe holding a gun.
