When my ancestors came to america 400 years ago there was nothing but forest, savages, and disease. We had to start with nothing and work hard to create a prosperous nation, millions upon millions of imigrants came to the united states and wound up on the bottom of society, but they worked hard and over came their circumstances and were able to prosper. The problem with most minorities and new imigrants is this, they see all these white people with living prosperous lives and they think its not fair, they dont stop and realize that the only reason they are where they are now is through generations of hard work and toil...most white people in the united states didnt even go to college untill after ww2 b/c the gi bill gave them the oprotunity too. And don't tell me that minorities don't have the same oprotunities as white people because again thats bull shit...I know plenty of minorities who over came their situation and suroundings to create a better life for themselves and their familiy, and you want to know how they did it??? The same way everyone else who has something did it HARD WORK!! I'm not going to jump headlong into this flame-fest, but I'll say this about people tossing about insults regarding crime, etc in the US compared their Euro countries:
- We have one state that is larger than almost every European country. - We have fifty states. - More than two thirds of our States have the same land area as several European countries combined. - We have fifty states. - We have states bigger than Sweden. - Oh yeah.. we have fifty states. - I'm calling this off the top of my head, so I can't remember if it's 3 or 4, but there are only 3-4 countries in Europe considered to have more freedoms than the United States by the UN. That's it. And don't go on about drug laws, etc. Having slack drug laws doesn't make up for all the other Socialist policies (let's not forget Hitler was a Socialist). |

I will agree prior to the civil rights act of 1964 that minorities were not on an equal playing fields with whites and were being descrimated against severely, but you know what...its been 40 years, and so much things have changed, theirs now plenty of oprotunities for them to over come their current situation, all they have to do is work hard for it, like every other american who has something. In addition, there are no starving people in the united states...if you would take a look a the charts i provided on the types of crimes being comited, they weren't "survival crimes" like stealing so you can feed your family, they were violent crimes like rape, murder, and armed robbery. True in history the lower echelons of society who were denied basic services and had no other oprotunity but to steal to feed their families is one thing, but selling drugs, stealing, and murdering so you can have more "luxuries" like the new nike's or some platinum rims on their car, etc is a completly diferent story. Like I said earlier poverty isnt an excuse, no ones starving or struggling EVERYONE has acess to wellfare, food stamps, and medicare which provide food and medical service to all us citizens, public schools and afirmitive action programs provide the oprotunity for minorities to get an education and improve their status, all they have to do is take advantage of them and work hard in school, the ball has been in their court for a while, the oprotunities for them to suceed have been there...and some have taken advantage of it and are prospering here, while sadly the majority continue to sit around and commit crimes and collect hand outs because, hey...why work when uncle sam will feed you, and the extra cash you get from selling drugs will pay for your other needs? |
