Where did Palpatine come from? You're new to Star Wars, aren't you?[/quote:0564d]
New to the movies, yeah, but not to the whole universe thing. I never saw the original Star Wars, save for the little quips they show on TV like the "Luke, I am your father" part, and somehow, I know the whole plot (the basics...Luke new jedi, destroys Death Star, kills dad..? )without seeing the movies... ...Im more familiar with KOTOR than anything else. I know that better than the movies themselves. |
Any one see the Falcon fly in the movie. I saw it the 2nd time I saw the movie.[/quote:1be87]
I remember seeing it. Cant remeber when though |
The only kinda cheesey part of the movie was the Vader line of 'NOOO' but bleh, whatever.
A few friends commented to me about how they didn't like the 'Frankenstein' type walk that he did when he got up for the first time. I woulda thunk it more retarded it he got up and started prancing around. It made him seem more real and kinda a newborn in a way. One note a buddy made was in Empire Strikes Back Obi-Wan says to Yoda, when Luke is taking off, "That boy is our last hope." Now I wonder why he would say that knowing of Leia? My best guess was the fact that Luke had been training for about 5 years, give or take, and Obi-Wan didn't think Leia could be ready in time if Luke fell. |

Some little asshole on the internet thinks Darth Maul raised Anakin as a baby, and Palpatine is his father. oOo:

nakin didnt have a father, however it is theorized that palpatine was darth plaguses apprentice, learned to influence the midichlorians, and anakin was concieved that way. However, that makes no sense. Presumably, palpatine new the prophesy of the chosen one, so why would he take the steps to fulfill it by concieving the chosen one? |

How do you guys know this stuff??? What I just cant figure out is why isnt the plot from the movie enough? Does there always have to be a secret meaning, a message behind everything, secret sub-plots or events that didnt partake in the movie? I mean, take a look at your local Star Wars - dedicated forums...they have incredible theories on the origin of the Sith, Darth Mauls whereabouts before the movie...how do you guys get this stuff? It's not as if the directors are catering to the crowd who reads all the inside-books, then watches the movies...what you're supposed to see and know is in the movies, isnt it? |
