Imperial City Arena. It's in the Imperial City of all places and has a big marker.

And can be Fast Traveled to at whim.

Ever since getting a newer, BETTER system - this game has been treating me like a bitch. Frequent CTD (that are hardware related - as the only way to stop them is to set performance settings to the ones recommended by the program), buggy AI (The Fishermans Rock quest - the NPC wouldnt move down to the beach to finish the quest. . .had to restart an hours worth of work), etc.

They need to get a patch out ASAP.

wintersforge 04-03-2006 01:51 PM

ive played about 6 hours so far...just ranging and exploring. ive completed a few quests...im playing a"sneak"....all my points in agility/thief related areas. im at 4th level right now and already ive looted most fo the countryside and alot of the imperial areas...ive also murdered the entire village of Hackdirt......ive a bounty on my head now as well.....the ruins and random stuff ive run into has been more fun than the gay quests...anyone go into Lindai yet? let me know how you got through the one gate needing a "key"...wtf is the key?

Some of the quests are lame, but there are some that are just fun - even if they last like 30 seconds (such as the quest involving the Elf in Bruma, the Moosehead, and the Dark Brotherhood). Also, Henatiers quest is fun as all hell - and had me frustrated for a good time before I figured out how to beat it. Quests like those I havent run into too often. Also Galthirirs quest (hes the Wood Elf who approaches you off the street in Skingrad) is fun (and disturbing) as all hell.

As for looting people - go back and check people you've looted. . .some of their gear "respawns" to your level.

As for your bounty - unless you've completed the quest to get into the Thieves Guild - you're right fucked on getting into the cities. Just dump your stolen gear into a chest in one of the houses of the poor citizens of Hackdirt - annoy: - and serve your time. Youll lose a stat - hopefully its in one that doesnt matter.

ninty 04-03-2006 02:29 PM

Ironically enough, the "poor" citizens of hackdirt should all be murdered anyway. there's a small side quest to do with hackdirt, and if you've done it you'll know what i mean.

c312 04-03-2006 03:23 PM

im now the Arena Grand Champion, level 4, and have around 4500 gold.

Graphics don't matter to me. I know elder Scrolls are quality games regardless of graphics.

Tribes still probably whoops it's ass though rock:

Morrowind.

If you're looking for the classic RPG with a strong storyline, in depth characters, and turn based action... look some where else.

I never played Morrowind. Is it anything like Fable, KOTOR, or FF?

None of them. However, the one thats closest would be Fable, if you ask me. Its really a concept of its own.

mr.miyagi 04-03-2006 06:27 PM

Its a first person fantasy with massive depth and theres so much to discover in it, huge game with big replay value, worth every penny imo.
I just bought 2 sticks of 1gig ram so my game should play great soon enough.
Even on medium or low details this game is really enjoyable.

I've not had much chance to play it lately so i'm on like level 2, heh, hunting the vampireh unter in Bruma. Some guy called gommo or gumma jus attacked me for walkin through his front door, I thought I'd run towards the guards and let them take care of him and his big-ass sledehammer ha!

Also did that Glarthir mission, felt really bad when I went into his basement to read his notes, felt such a bastard loney:

No, nothing like them. Probably the exact opposite while still staying within the bounds of what constitutes an RPG.

Youll meet him again.

Glarthrir. Probably one of my favorite quests. Next time - when Im going to play a complete bastard. . .I'm going to complete his quest the way HE wants it to go down - and collect a nice paycheck.

I *SO* know what you mean: aside from the stupid character going right into battle with the enemies and getting itself killed (and making me reload after shouting a few curses), I rather enjoyed it.

Cool Fool 04-03-2006 10:02 PM

ahaha the dark brotherhood guy came after i beat the half orc for grand champion...i guess it makes sense though. spoiler? im not sure but i'll do it like this...do the crowhaven quest and he is a vampires son and he doesn't wish to live so he just lets you kill him in the arena

btw, does anyone know where i can get chainmail, mithril, dwarven, elven or glass armor and a dwarven, elven, or glass bow?

TGB! 04-03-2006 10:36 PM

[quote:3dec9]btw, does anyone know where i can get chainmail, mithril, dwarven, elven or glass armor and a dwarven, elven, or glass bow?[/quote:3dec9]

Level up and it starts dropping, as well as being used by Bandits.

04-03-2006 11:04 PM

bah vampirism sucks. I cant do shit during the day, but I already got passed the Purification mission...anyone remember/know what priest to see about curing Vampirism?

ninty 04-03-2006 11:20 PM

you need to feed in order to go out during the day. feed at least once per day.

the cure is probably one of the hardest quests in the entire game. to get cured, go see someone in the imperial temple.

Cool Fool 04-04-2006 12:38 AM

i contracted it and right after i got out of the cave where i contracted it i took a cure disease potion and prayed at the altar in the chapel...can you heal it early before the thing fully develops or something?

Cool Fool 04-04-2006 12:38 AM

oh fuck double post my bad

Heh, when hes dead, take his key, get into his house and search the basket to the right as soon as you enter... biggrin:

yes, if you catch it before you turn into a vampire it can be cured easily.

wintersforge 04-04-2006 12:29 PM

bounty was up to 2200 and infamy was at 3..i had to go back to the imperial city so i was jailed...lost all non theif related scores which was lucky.

i still havent messed with many quests yet as im busy mapping this massive underground complex beneath the outlaying areas around the imperial city...this whole complex connects the entire substructure of the main land mass me thinks....very awesome dungeon crawl and ive finally gotten a hold of some nice stuff....

Hmmm - I already have the key to his house - "pickpocketed it" - because Im sure by now his body has been removed by Skingrad guards.

Theres a new Oblivion TweakGuide out: http://www.tweakguides.com/Oblivion_1.html

And official oblivion downloads:
https://obliviondownloads.com/StoreCata ... tegoryId=1

Lockpick tip:
http://www.kotaku.com/gaming/oblivion/h ... 164958.php

I shall search that basket in Glarthirs house Tsyt, coz I had him killed beer:

TGB! 04-04-2006 01:11 PM

The horse armor DL is ass. Two bucks for two sets of armor - gimme a break.

The "scene" needs to break the mod now and release it. I'd be all for paying for MOD Packs - but not this shit.

Wasn't it straight forward enough ? There are two distinctly different sounds to indicate the status of the tumbler to help you determine when to lock it in place! All you really need are decent reflexes...
