Just got my Eagle.
 

Well tonight marks the night I got my Eagle rank for boy scouts. some of you guys may think it is dorky as hell, but some other people around here have more respect for that. Ill see if I can get some pics up soon.

gratz man, boy scouts was cool when I was in it..course we didn't have the whole "gay scoutmaster" fiasco.

course my boy scouts wasn't in america, it was in my home country, we didn't have ranks like Cub, Eagle, etc. we had coloured kerchiefs for rank.

I quit when I got to boyscouts 10 years ago.

congrats. Big accomplishment. I stopped going to scouts when I moved.

Whats so special about the eagles and cub scouts? I mean seriously why are some people in it until they are like 60 ffs.

just make sure you apply to a bunch of scholarships. You'll get 'em all just b/c you reached the Eagle Scout rank

Again why? why do they get scholarships and shit? SOMEONE EXPLAIN! ed:

it shows a lot of commitment and as the eagle scout you need to do A BUNCH of community service and help little kids, etc.

It's the same sort of thing as being a Frat pres in college. People know it's really hard and takes a lot of commitment and value people who can acheive it. The reason they get scholarships and stuff is because they have basically already proven that they can succeed in school and the workplace, whereas military personnel haven't necessarily shown the same qualities. It shows the university/employer that the person is a hardworker.
