S - Move backwards

D - Sidestep right
Space bar - Jump
Control (ctrl) - Crouch
Ctrl + W - Crouching run
Q - Prone
Q + W - Crawl
Shift + W - Walk

Left mouse button - Weapon primary attack
Right mose button - Weapon secondary attack

Team chat - T

There we go. I've probably missed a few unnecessary things out. A few notes:

The "crouch" and "crouching run" functions are like the ones in Hidden and Dangerous, not like DoD.
The use function is for opening doors etc.
Where I've put "weapon primary attack" it's also for items.
The secondary attack modes are things like hitting with weapon, bayonet, or throwing your helmet at someone.
About the helmet thing. It should be a weapon but when you use it it makes you more vulnerable.
The primary attack for helmet could be hit and secondary as throw.
The canteen could also be an item which you drink from to increase your energy (nice idea Ballistic Wookie).
That's about it.
I hope 2015 comment on this.
I think they would be the best default controls.

Oh yeah the primary for knife could be regular stab whilst secondary could be lunge and wrestle someone to the ground and then stabbing them.

Hells-Angel 06-11-2001 06:33 AM

man ball, caparzo, and me are the super idea team.

elmagoo 06-11-2001 06:33 AM

Man you guys are freaks ;)p.

I've never understood why you'd use wsad rather than edsf? It's the same thing, only a key over (e-forward, d-backward, s-strafe left, f-strafe right). By using it a key over, you get access to more keys with your left hand (easier to access the tgb column on the keyboard), plus your hand is in natural typing position for typing messages, and using the number keys :).

I'm left handed though, how bout u guys make 2 different sets of default, left handed and right handed.

BadScript 06-11-2001 08:16 AM

LOL looks like I'm utterly outnumbered... Wait till we play online and we'll see who's the man http://www.pcgamers.net/ubb/smile.gif

I used the arrow keys because on my keyboard there are two sub-arrow keys (?) to either side of the up arrow key and three misc. keys. It's an IBM Internet keyboard or whatever they call it http://www.pcgamers.net/ubb/smile.gif

bring it on BS !! http://www.pcgamers.net/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.pcgamers.net/ubb/biggrin.gif

BallisticWookie 06-11-2001 09:41 AM

EDSF sounds ok actually, I might try that out, thanks elmagoo http://www.pcgamers.net/ubb/biggrin.gif hehe poor BS

yeah I'm left handed too, but after all these years using the mouse in my right hand I'm used to it, ALSO speaking of lefthandedness,
I wanna see weapons on the left side of the screen in MoH:AA http://www.pcgamers.net/ubb/smile.gif Will this happen ??

Coriolis 06-12-2001 12:59 AM

Sorry magoo, I tried for a couple days to use E for forward, but it totally threw off my entire left hand. That extra forced pivot point restricted the motion of my other fingers, plus it eliminated the easy use of the middle finger for weapon selection. In slow-paced games it may be fine to have forward on the keyboard, but in fast games like Q3 where you are almost always going forward, especially when you are doing lots of other keys, it's better to have it where it's unobtrusive. Forward on the mouse is just a little extra pressure on that one finger while holding the mouse; forward on the keyboard makes reaching the other keys awkward.

Just my 5 cents worth (silly inflation)
