well leaves are falling snow is coming in PA and its time for the most wonderful time of the year......................no not christmas.. eek: DEER SEASON!!!!!!!!!!!!!YAY time to pop a few four legged suckers M16: can't wait to use my 308 lever action with variable 2-18 power scope again...last year i took 3 deer and everyone of em dropped where they were at (thanks to hollow points) last year was a eight point im shooting higher this year!!!!!!

If your gonna eat the meat and use all of the deer I don't see a problem. My father was a hunter. If you don't use the deer or only use its head then I disagree with it. I remember my father would bring home a fridge full of meat from hunting. I think it's probably a lot different in North America than it is in Europe. I doubt there is much hunting there. and therefore people take a harder stance on it. In Canada, there are so many open places and animals that hunting is normal for a lot of people.

The only gun i use to shoot animals is my pellet/dart gun. It can kill gophers but when i hit a deer once all it did was jump up and down and run away.
My grandpa pays me to kill all the gophers at his ranch because one of his horses broke its leg stepping in a gopher hole last year. I get 10 bux a gopher...this year i made $210 the whole summer biggrin:

sry gerard i have to go with the rest of the guys on this.....they all have great points i always keep the meat.venison is alot leaner and has less fat.....and in my opinion TASTES SOOOOOO MUCH BETTER THAN STEAK! anyways population control must be had at all times in the US i dont know how big hunting is in europe but here its pretty popular especially in rural areas.

I have about 6 weeks before hunting opens down here, but I'm fired up all the same. I hunt mostly duck, but deer also. Nothing quite like the smell of gunpowder in the morning, unless its maybe the smell of diesel exhaust over the water in the morning.

If you hunt and eat it its fine with me I prefer to bow hunt though although I do hunt with a gun sometimes. Strikor, its a Ruger Redhawk 6 shot double action. I purchased it20 years ago when I was going to school to be a cop. (never finished they dont get paid enough) The recoil isnt bad at all and its VERY accurate! No scope just iron sights (my prefrence) but at 75 yards it will rock your world!
