X-Box or PS2
Im thinking of getting one for my kids but dont know which is better. The Xbox is on sale for $199 w/2 free games this sounds like a good deal. U tell me

Well, it all comes down to games: which one do you think has better games
for your children? I don't believe the X-BOX has a lot of kids software, but I might be wrong... the PS2 has some for sure. |

na, i think that the purple box with no DVD or Internet capbilities and has cartoonish games is the best. I think its called gaycube. Not sure though
|
Depends on the age of your kids I would say 13+ my sis who is 10 plays it just cheats since the games are to hard for her. Well we have Halo,Project Gothem Racing, Simpsons Road Rage and RaliSport Championship. Well that is all I gota say!
|
though, i'd by a PS2 since even though it isn't as strong as an Xbox (i think), it has a ton of better games and is doing better then Xbox in sales.

Hahaha lol Gerard you owned his ass hahaha.
But it really depends on age. Gamecube for younger kids (under 14) because, really, it does have quite a few younger kid games like Animal Crossing and Mario Sunshine (im not knocking GC). PS2 or XBox is a toss up. I personally liked the PS2 over XBox because of all the games they have coming out for it. I just love all of their games lol. Well most anyway. Ok im done rambling. |
Trust me get XBoX, ive got it. Another one of my friends has PS2 and it doesnt even compare. There only one good game for PS2, and there are tons for XBoX. There comming out with Halo 2, which will be the best game ever made.

well, ok, PS2 has more cartoonish games then Gamecube... thats the only part you failed to convince me in.

Ps2 xbox and gamecube all have their share of cartoonish looking games. Just because a game s cartoon like doesn't mean its for2 year olds. The new zelda game looks as good as a cartoon but its not a game for kids. |
ok fine ed: evil: oOo:

Well, I sell these things day in day out. What I ask the customers is what are they looking for more.....a wide selection of not always fantastic games, or a smaller selection of graphically better and more quality titles, with consoles that are able to play DVD with crystal clear quality.
Sure, the PS2 has a larger range of games, some good, most bad....and as Gerard and I have already established, quantity doesnt always add up to quality. Many games on the PS2 add up to shit, believe me, I know what I'm talking about...I work at EB. The PS2 maybe the bigger seller, perhaps it's because it's been around for a while longer. perhaps it's because of it's bigger range of games, but I can tell you for certain, the Xbox is better than the PS2. Do you like DVD's ?? Do you like playing a few games with nice frame rates and graphics which cant be achieved on the PS2 ? Do you like Internet gaming ? From what I've heard and seen, the Xbox WILL provide you with all these things. Sure, the PS2 has it's own Internet connection ability, and a few nice titles that take advantage of the the PS2's online abilities, but once again, I can tell you with absolute certainty that the Xbox has the better line up of games for online play now and into the future. Basically, all I can do is tell you to research each console and come to a conclusion which best suits you and your family. Am I a fanboy ?? No. I have both an Xbox and PS2. Each time a customer asks me the question of which is better, I can answer them with a truthful response. The Xbox is better, in all areas, bar range of titles....but I think we can answer that area with a pretty reasonable response....the PS2 has been out longer. Take my advice, dont listen to the fanboys out there. Decide what you think will do your family the best in terms of entertainment, in whatever aspect that may be. Good luck to you, I hope you find the perfect system for your needs. By the way. the GameCube, although not as highly hyped up as the Xbox or PS2, is still a fantastic little system..dont pass it off either. Sorry if none of this made sense, I'm a little inebriated at the moment wink: But I'm sure I made myself pretty clear biggrin: |
I'm gonna leave this as simple as i can........ Get PS2!!
|
Well I have PS2.
But I only got one, because of FF X and to use it as DVD-player. Otherwise I would had bought GameCube.. IF anything. |
x-box is a very worthy purchase. The dvd player is excellent and easy to use, there are limited games out justnow but some huge titles comming up in 2003. im personally looking forward to project ego.
When x-box live is running well, you will be able to download new levels and mods for games. dont let the "poor sales" chanters put you off, as its pretty obvious poor sales wont bankrupt microsoft and make them abandon the x-box. and remember that x-box was pricey on its release but has come down in price drasticly, and also that PS2 already had a huge fan base of ps1 gamers eager for the realse of the ps2. x-box will get there in the end. the games are a bit pricey justnow though. however if its for kids, your best bet is a gamecube, loads of great fun colourful titles, as well as things such as resident evil for the grownups. plus if you have a game boy advance, on some games you can connect it to your gamecube and play sub-games on the gameboy advance. ps2 is a ps1 with better graphics in the games, thats all there is to it. the dvd player is not bad but it isnt exactly a professional job worthy of sony. |
They both have there qualitys X box's graphics are much better but PS2 has many more games plus the playback capabilty. Also the X-Box reqires you to buy a 30 or 40$ remote to watch DVD's. I think with the 2 games it is a great deal I know Jet Set Radio (one of the games you get) has been rated really good.
So if you want quality graphics and games go X-Box but if you want a bigger ammount of games go PS2 |
I second that.

PS2 for better games, a REAL DVD player for DVDs
Xbox is pathetic and Halo isn't as good as people say it is. Gamecube = Zelda and Metriod and Resident Evil series = enough to buy it. |
well it seems about 50/50 so I think Ill go with the Xbox deal. Thanks for your replys

Good choice there Sgt. You should be happy with your purchase, bigger and better games are coming in the New Year, and Xbox Live is going to be fantastic. I hope you enjoy it biggrin:
Pyro, you must have never touched an Xbox to say that the DVD player on the PS2 is better. I mean come on, I know your fanboy, but wake up. Xbox DVD hardware is exceptional in quality. The PS2's DVD player is just some slap together 2 second job which produces the same quality that went into putting it together, which is, to put it bluntly... utter shit. |

mb[/quote:19eb9] Ok the world wants to know, what exactly do the initials MB stand for? |
The ps2 dvd playback is very pixxelated in some dvd's. Xbox is around the quality of a midrange price dvd player and afaik the panasonic q actually has slightly better quality over xbox. Then again you would barely notice it i spose.
|
Hmmm, the picture quality between the Xbox and PS2 DVD playback is very noticeable and its obvious when looking at the 2 which is better....Xbox. I also notice that picture and sound go out of sync when watching DVD's on the PS2, might just be mine, but when that happens, I know the DVD player is shit.

Ok if u wanna buy kitty games get gamecube. If u want hardcore games get xbox or ps2. If u want good graphics get xbox. So basicly every system has its perks and down falls.

How much is the Xbox, PS2, Gamecube?? I'm thinking about purchasing a console next summer, not sure what to buy either. But most likely the X-Box.
Not to go off-topic here, but isn't the Playstation 3 'said' to be released in 2004?? Any of you heard news of any other new consoles being released anytime soon in the future? |
