3d card issues...*Please Read*
I just replaceed my vodoo 5500, with a geforce 4 mx 440...i can play bf1942 fine but mohaa won't work at all...I'm thinking I need to get open gl drivers for my card but I'm to sure where to get them...anyone got some advise?
|
Im guessing you have Windows.
Open your start menu and find "Windows Update" Let the site load, scan for updates, update all your drivers, etc. If it still doesn't work, try getting your drivers from the nVidia website, http://www.nvidia.com |
1) Visit http://www.nvidia.com and download the newest Detonator drivers. Install them and reboot.
2) Go to your MOH directory, and run Config.EXE. Then boot MOH. |
Just hadda show me up, didn't ya? DIDN'T YA?!
It's okay.. I can chase you around these forums.. I need no SLEEP! On second thought, looking at what I'm about to post, yes I do. |
heh, screw that. I'm hittin the offtopic, then off to bed. My butt is still killing me from snowboarding. cry:

This is what the mohaa console says on the bottom when i try and load
19887 files in pk3 files execing default.cfg execing menu.cfg execing newconfig.cfg Config: unnamedsoldier.cfg couldn't exec configs/unnamedsoldier.cfg execing newconfig.cfg couldn't exec localized.cfg execing autoexec.cfg Unknown command "fov" couldn't exec custom.cfg ...detecting CPU, found AMD w/ 3DNow! ------- Input Initialization ------- Initializing DirectInput... damn edit button really got me that time.

Aaaaaaaaand........back on topic. |
I don't think its the card I think its because mohaa still thinks its using the vodoo card, I deleted most of the noticble 3dfx 3d programs, but i might have missed some...I remember so i could play mohaa with my vodoo i was using a program called wicked3d which i unistalled but i think elements of it might be in my mohaa.... i also think theres a problem with my opengl32 file...can someone with a geforce based card tell me all the .dll files i need in mohaa for it to work...other games work fine...games i installed after i put in the new card...like bf1942...
|
I just deleted all my old 3dfx files and now moh doesnt recognize an open gl driver...
...initializing QGL ...calling LoadLibrary( 'C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\opengl32.dll' ): failed ...shutting down QGL ...assuming '3dfxvgl' is a standalone driver ...initializing QGL ...WARNING: missing Glide installation, assuming no 3Dfx available ...shutting down QGL GLW_StartOpenGL() - could not load OpenGL subsystem can someone tell me what this means and how do i fix it? |
Ok, I unistalled mohaa completley from my comp, removed all parts of it and spearhead, evrything... Then I reinstalled it...and the game starts up and launches now...but the interface is real laggy...I'm thinking its my cards settings anyone with a GeForce card have any sugestians on the settings I should be using on the card that are optimal with mohaa...or something to do to make the game run smoother, its not my comp I have a 1.2 ghz 256 ram and the geforce 4 mx 440 which should work cause my old vodoo 5500 ran mohaa....
|
Dammit, did you read my post? Do what I said! Download the new drivers and install them, reboot, then use this tutorial:
http://mohaa.xgshosting.com/joe/installguide.htm |
I did everything it said to on your list and I can get mohaa to launch, its just real real laggy, for example the ea logo in the intro takes along time...the intro video lags, and when i get to the menu if i move the mouse it takes it like 30 seconds to respond to the movement...I'm thinking I lost my updated opengl drivers...and its screwing up, this is wierd
|
if you can, your best bet seems to reformat the HD

OK, did you uninstall your old graphics drivers for the Voodoo when you removed the video card?
Also, try upgrading to DirectX 9. Download it off the internet. Run auto-configure from the MOH folder! |
Actually i got mohaa to run now as I was thinking their wasn't the right open gl files in my mohaa folder, i put some their and mohaa runs smoothly now...
but....as if i am cursed or something i go to reinstall spearhead and when i get to like 27% it goes please insert the disk which contains data2.cab!!!!!!!! I was like what the hell is that, i did a search......data2.cab is on the damn mohaas cd...wtf is the problem?! why wont it read it.... |
u must have a scratched cd if it cant find a file on it try cleanin it off real good because there is a data2.cab on the sh cd.
