Internet Explorer a.k.a. The DEVIL
 

Internet Explorer is forcing me to save all pictures as Bitmaps (*.bmp) rather than what I want (*.jpg or *.gif typically). WHY?!

i have the problem, but only on certain site. maybe the image is a bitmap only image or soemthing

Just right click and copy them to Paintshop or the Adobe one, then save them as .jpg

Its not as bad as having a picture with a .bmp extension.

I have the same prob with IE, also i can view the source of pages too.

i remember one tiem i wanted to save one of the girly thread pictures, but it was http... i had to take a screenie of the pic and then post in paint, and THEN edit out the corners, and THEN save it... damn that was hellish cry:

I get the format the picture is in, and .BMP. So, if I try to save a .GIF, I can only save it as a .GIF or .BMP.

what program do u gusy use? cant right clcik on http images?

internet explorer is the best imo, easy to use, many features, no fancy crap

I just IE, cuz it's the most popular, and I'm famuliar with it. There's also Netscape Navigator, and that other one we talked about here once, forgot the name of it.

Lemme explain ze problem a bit more...

1. I right click an image to save it

2. The Save As dialogue box pops up.

3. I type what I want the file to be called and choose where I want it to go.

4. I try and select a format, but no matter what, I can only select *.bmp. Even if the image I'm trying to save is a jpeg or gif.

Anyone ?

Christ, I'm the only person who knows what he's talking about. It's a known IE glitch that MS hasn't gotten around to fixing yet. You need to delete your temporary internet files. That should take care of it.
