always thought the moon-landing was faked, this is just a joke of course, but the fact that there was really no explanation how the astronauts survived going through the radiation belt back then. I have seen a lot of evidence showing that there was no way we could have made it to the moon, we just wanted to beat the Soviet's to it. Even now we don't send anyone to the moon, why is that? And was Apollo 13 the real mission to the moon? And is that why it went wrong, because we still weren't prepared to send men to the moon? It's a very interesting conspiracy theory.

TBH i think its a big farce myself, the radiation belt is one thing thats never been properly answered by nasa who alwys seem to just ignore the question. The fact is america got beat into space by russia and then conveniently got to the moon before russia even though russia would have had a large edge as they attainted space before the americans. Stinks of bullshit in a alot of ways.

The only thing I don't understand is, why have none of the astronauts slipped up yet? None of them have said anything about it being faked, I have never heard them comment on the whole "fake" theory. I mean 1969 was a long time ago wouldn't you think the truth would have come out somehow? But then again there are many well covered-up events that will never be uncovered. I guess our country would look pretty bad if the landing was faked. They were probably paid a lot of money and their family's will all be taken care of for the rest of their lives. So that is probably the incentive to shut the astrnauts up.

actually a few months ago Neil Armstrong(i think, i know it was one of em') punched a guy that kept accusing the landing of being fake.

Moon landings fake? Comon put your hatred for America aside for one moment FFS. This wasn't just America but many other countries were involved as well. Such as Australia which was the prime receiver for the radio trasmission at the time of the landing. This was the greatest scientific moment in the history of man and you guys stand around and say it was fake. GET OFF IT!!! Shame, shame, shame. How dare you call the astronauts cowards by saying they never set foot on the moon. They were doing something that was completely new and revolutionary. Who here would go into space with 1960s technology?? Or even set foot on the moon and return safely to the Earth? Yet you honour men who survived gunfights with Germans or Japanese or went to a war that never made a scrap of difference to anything.

There's one thing you cannot fake. Moonrocks. Those rocks are WEIRD. Nothing on Earth is exactly matches it.

By the way I should inform you about an incident with Buzz Aldren. I think about 4 months ago a guy (who is a major believer that the moon landings were fake) confronted Buzz in a hotel lobby. Buzz was pissed off (and rightfully so) about this guy calling him a coward and absolutely decked the guy. He's like 70+ years old. I wish my Grandad could kick arse that much. It's on video too, but I'm not sure were you would find the footage.

This has nothing to do with a hatred for my country, this has to do with scientific facts. Do some research on the subject before you spout off incoherent babble like that. The only proof you have for defending the space program is that they have moon rocks?? Of course they do, they have had lunar landings on the moon plenty of times. How else would they know the conditions that the astronauts would face Besides, do you know the difference from a moon rock and a chunk of hardened lava? Probably not, so how is that statement even credible? We are not arguing patriotism, we are mearly discussing the facts and scientific research that shows the moon landing was possibly faked to gain an edge over the Russians in their space program.

right.....so there are few people adamant that the moon landings were fake. hands up out of those people beleive in god.....where there is clearly so much evidence that proves he exsists because he comes down for a freindly chat every day...... hake:

I for one would actually like to belive that we did land on the moon. And for those of you conspiracy theorists out there who think this is faked for the sole reason of the radiation belt well listen up.
1)If you like conspiracies then you belive the US government is covering up a UFO(remember this for later).
2) The US government has the most advanced Space program in the world now that the russians had to take out MIR evil:

But for us non conspiracy people than how about this. By next year Japan will have the worlds strongest optical Telescope pointed at teh moon. The are looking for the left behind remains of the moon landers

Oh man that was a good laugh. UFO!! I think we cleared up the whole Roswell thing, classified testing on parachutes or something like that. They used the UFO story to cover up what they were actually doing.

Well of course I wouldn't know but I bet 100% of the world's geologists would. If you don't believe that the findings are true then just about every single thing that you have never seen or heard about is false.

Didn't you personally witness the collapsing of the Twin Twoers or the plane running into the Pentagon? Don't think so. To deny that the moonlandings means that by your logic just about 99.9% of Human History that has ever occured never happened because the hard evidence isn't there. I'm also guessing you believe the Holocaust never existed right?

If so then how can you believe in on event occuring and denying another when both havepretty much the same amount of basic evidence.

Why do people not know how to use the quote button? oOo: Of course the moon is similar to Earth, it was once part of it. The fact is just do some research before you say that common cliche "just because you haven't seen it doesn't me it doesn't exist". It's a perfectly plausible theory, and is no reason to ram your beliefs down my throat.

Its not like people were helpless before computers.

I for one believe that the landings took place. I have read the conspiracy theory "facts" and I have also read the rebuttals (unfortunately, not from NASA).

The question will be answered definatively soon enough anyway.

One thing I don't get is if there was no moon landing how come the Parkes radiotelescope, which was the prime receiver for the moon landings, picked up the radio signals from the surface of the moon. Having your radiotelescope pointed at the moon and picking up TV signals from the surface of the moon sounds pretty convincing to me.

Also I'm pretty sure I sure astronauts hop into the rocket that got blasted to the moon.
