What do you think is the best and worst episode in BOB

What do you think is the best and worst episode in Band of brohers or if you don't have a worst just say an episode that you least liked.

Captain Bunny 01-18-2003 04:49 AM

Episode 3 Carenten or something like that, is probably my most favourite, and least favourite.
If i remember correctly anyway:

It has a lot of fighting in it, and the bit where the M1 (i think) tanks come to their rescue and one of the guys says "you beautiful babies!"
and winters face lights up and shouts to everyone to keep firing while the germans retreat. Its great action.

Its also my least favourite, as for some reason i cant stand the weedy guy who claims to be blind. I really felt like giving him a slap. He almost ruined the epsiode for me.

If i had to pick a different fav and worst, id have to say crossroads as my fav and why we fight as my worst.

I say that "The Breaking Point" is my favorite. I've always liked the winter warfare, and it goes along great with the book. If I had to say a least favorite, it would be "The Last Patrol" but if not, then I like all of them. I like the part in "Why We Fight" where Webster gets up and says "Say hello to Ford! And General fucking Motors!"

Oddball 01-18-2003 11:00 AM

I liked Why We Fight the best. V. good they way they cptured the soldiers reactions and feelings to the concentration camps.

Least favourite was the Last Patrol.

McCoy 01-18-2003 11:02 AM

I liked them all.

Favorite Episode: Episode 3 Carentan

Least Favorite Episode: Episode 8 The Last Patrol. For some reason I don't like this episode. Well, its not that I don't like it, but I fin it very different from the rest. I'm sure it was intended that way to show how much the soldiers have changed. I don't really like to see Malarky the way he is in that one, so thats probably my reason for it.

quickfist 01-18-2003 02:08 PM

carentan and bastogne

Airborne Butters 01-18-2003 02:21 PM

oh, this is a tuffy. My fav episodes would have to be Replacement where they launch Op. Markey Garden. It's great when they tell the Brit's about the tiger and shit. Another fav is Episode 7, The Breaking Point. It's just awesome and spectacular in what Speirs does!

The worst, well there is not worst episode. The one I least liked was Episode 10 because it was an end to a great series and great company.

First off....

[quote:8a220]It has a lot of fighting in it, and the bit where the M1 (i think) tanks come to their rescue and one of the guys says "you beautiful babies!"

Those tanks that came to their rescue is a Sherman M4A1. An M1 stands for a lot of weapons in WWII, but since we're talking about tanks then u must mean the Abrams M1A1. However, because of you comparing the Sherman to the Abrams you must be shot. fire2:

Sorry.... biggrin:

Oh and i think that disk 2 is the best because there is the most shooting in it. My least favorite is Part 9 because of teh sex scene in it. If I wanted to see a sex scene I would have watched a porno movie. However, because of the officer or enlisted man walking in and making it very funny...I cannot argue.

Also it is very difficult to say that BOB is bad because there is nothing bad about it.

Thank u for your time and now I can make my leave and STFU. cool: [/quote:8a220]

Magnum 01-18-2003 06:30 PM

Heh.

Captain Bunny 01-18-2003 07:22 PM

I know this doesnt fall into the right topic of fav episode, but my favourite bit from the entire series was when major winters stops captain sobel oh pretty much ignores him when walking past and says "you salute the rank, not the man" and sobel salutes winters. class.

Blitz your an idiot its to bad we cant time travel so that you could have your dream of being an officer in the SS, if this had been a hollywood patriotic series every soldier would have come home safe and sound and the germans would have been running around in circles yelling Hooooogggaaannn!!!!, plus its a true story.

I don't call myself anti-american, but the whole America vs. Germany is kinda over played. Hell, it's a movie made my American moviemakers so what do you expect. I wanna see a good war movie about the Finnish Winter War, the invasion of Poland, the Commoenwealth forces in Indo-China, or the Japanese invasion of Manchuria.

I agree, I too would like to see some battles and other aspects of the war that have not been done on film. And to add to what you said about it being an american made film, its also about americans, so people out there saying "bah it only shows americans fighting"...well duh.

What does this have to do with anything? There have been plenty of films dealing with the bad of America.

=BA-MF=LoneGunner65=2nd=c 01-19-2003 12:40 AM

i think carentan was the best and 9 and 10 were the worst.

Oddball 01-19-2003 12:50 AM

Too all those people who want to give Blithe a kick up the bum:

All I can ask is have you ever shot anyone or been in a war? No? So STFU!

SW-14 01-19-2003 12:57 AM

My favorite was the dropping and fighting in Normandy.

Least favorite was Bastogne. Just too monotonous.

Bazooka_Joe 01-19-2003 02:12 AM

I really thought they were all great.

[000th]pvt.SCOuT 01-20-2003 05:23 AM

GreenEggs&Pot 01-20-2003 09:32 AM

DITTO - Some of you people would shit thier pants and coward like a god damn church boy when you heard a whole company of Hitlers crack troops shootin at ya.

---

I would also like to see a movie on the Russian Front, perferably the invasion of Poland! :D

But this is simply hollywood, they will only show what americans will watch, unless Spielberg goes out of his way to make a movie on it.

The last two episodes were kind of emotional to watch.. it sumed up what happened and told what the soldiers would do when they got older... *sniffs*

Read the book if you're more interested in what happened, more detailed.

Crpl. Crunch 01-20-2003 10:04 AM

All were great, but my favs were Day of Days, Carentan, then the ones in Bastogne. Well done all around i think.
