Men of Valor: Vietnam's First Site Open!

Men of Valor: Vietnam's first Fan Site is now open to the public.

You can check it out at: http://www.movv.com

Not much content while we wait for 2015 to send us a few exclusive shots, but the forums are up if you want to talk about.. well.. whatever.

Anyway, hope to see everyone visiting, and let's stick by 2015 from the start to make sure this game surpasses EA's murdering of MoH:AA. cool:

Good job biggrin:

Slinky2397 01-25-2003 11:34 AM

Yes, looks pretty good.

Pfc.Green 01-25-2003 11:39 AM

Hey Noctis, do you know whos publishing Men of Valor: Vietnam?

Milla 01-25-2003 11:41 AM
Sierra or Vevendi i think i dunno which one ive heard both names eek:[/quote:d49a8]

Thats good, hell an Afghan kite store would do a better job than EA.

BallisticWookie 01-25-2003 12:35 PM

I am 100% correct (hopefully) when I tell you that EA have nothing to do with 2015's next product. Hopefully this game wont be "Sierra'd" or Vivendi'd" biggrin: In that respect I am hopefull.

As far as the businesses go, it's either Sierra is owned by Vivendi or the other way around, either way, Sierra have always released great titles which I've enjoyed thoroughly. Hopefully this will be a similar story.

BallisticWookie 01-25-2003 12:47 PM

On another note, please, by all means, stop by the forums at [url:6bcf3]http://www.movv.com[/url:6bcf3]. As of now, Innox and myself are moderating, pretty much the same rules apply as those that are enforced here, but it's pretty lax right now, and we really want to get a decent community going for this game. The forums are looking good and can be called a home away from home, much like the "Vet Forums". Sign up, and please post away, we are hopefully (once again), going to be affiliated with 2015...as far as a Board of Developers go....so come by and say hi. Believe me, I wont bite. biggrin:

Milla 01-25-2003 12:48 PM

What wook here means he wont bite "hard" biggrin:

BallisticWookie 01-25-2003 12:54 PM

Hehehe, actually, I pretty much wont bite at all, until our Rules are set up and in place. Expect this forum, but alot more stable, not as "Nazi" and not as "n00b" infested.....unless a buttload of n00bs decide to sign up ofcourse. biggrin:

Milla 01-25-2003 01:01 PM

i will smite the n00bs

Innoxx 01-25-2003 02:56 PM

.......and I will have fun with the n00bs.

Drew 01-25-2003 05:05 PM

Anti, you rock. Straight up.

Milla 01-25-2003 06:10 PM

Dont u think the site should represent more Vietnam type era shit and not this kinda stuff eek:

Pfc.Green 01-25-2003 06:13 PM
Dont u think the site should represent more Vietnam type era shit and not this kinda stuff eek:[/quote:a3ac8]

I agree, as it is now..it looks good, but it doesnt really say Vietnam to me.

descry 01-25-2003 06:13 PM

how do you view the site?

eek: Wha? just like any other.

Innoxx 01-25-2003 06:19 PM

I think the theme seems somewhat fitting, as Vietnam was not a very popular and clean war. A dirty dark place is how I picture the Ashau valley and many other hellholes in Vietnam.

Milla 01-25-2003 06:21 PM

I realize that, but i believe it is to dark and...dare i say...gothic looking eek:

Pfc.Green 01-25-2003 06:23 PM

It just seems like when you first look at the site, you might think your looking at the web page for some gothic punk band or something (no offense)

descry 01-25-2003 06:27 PM

when i click on the link it says
"Welcome to your future Website
We Thank You for joining the iPowerWeb community.
In order to view your website, please remove this file
"index.html" and replace it with your own index.html file."

Drew 01-25-2003 06:29 PM

Delete your temp files, then it'll work.

Your browser is cached.

Drew 01-25-2003 06:30 PM

It says video game to me.. and besides, like I've said, the phpNuke is temporary until we get a permanent, custom web design.

BallisticWookie 01-25-2003 06:32 PM

The front graphics are just placeholder for now. A better and more fitting design will be up hopefully soon. Either way, I think it sort of fits, but then again, it does'nt really seem very "Vietnam'y".

descry 01-25-2003 06:32 PM

i still get the same thing.

Drew 01-25-2003 06:34 PM

Try deleting temp files, clearing history, and deleting cookies.

It has to be your computer, because that file no longer exists on the server oOo:

descry 01-25-2003 06:41 PM

i got ride of everything and still the same site. Cookies and all.

Drew 01-25-2003 06:42 PM

Makes no sense.. that file doesn't exist on the server. I just double-checked.

Old Reliable 01-25-2003 06:43 PM

vietnam - home of rice patties and jungle disease

Pfc.Green 01-25-2003 06:43 PM

Heres a suggestion, what about maybe using colors that reflect the jungle'y sort of atmosphere (maybe take insperation from the screen shots) like browns and different greens.

Old Reliable 01-25-2003 06:46 PM

camo

Drew 01-25-2003 09:06 PM

Heh, tell the people who are going to submit web designs freak:

You gotta close the browser and reopen it.

Drew 01-26-2003 02:42 AM

Look for hosted screenshots, and some custom graphics using them for your desktop, etc, in the next couple of days!

(Thanks for the idea, Green)

Like I said over AIM, you should consider maybe putting in some screenies from the game, particulary the one with the guy next to the M113, and B&W the pic over the blood splats, or something.

Miscguy 01-26-2003 03:33 AM

Well i offered to do the image work but i didnt receive word. I had imagined somthing a bit more Vietnam than what Anti Produced. Perhaps if i where given even the basic of the dimensions i could have produced a sample.

Oh well, nice work Anti, NOC.

Drew 01-26-2003 02:01 PM

The site is the theme I chose for phpNuke.. it's going to change when someone submits a site layout that I like (this would be where vietnamese efforts would do well). If you are interested in creating the layout, take some hints from alliedassault.com happy:

robaroo 02-12-2003 05:45 PM

Seems to me the guys over at http://www.movhc.com have the vietnam theme pretty well covered. Their theme looks really cool. Shame about the helicopter background being split up but im sure they will sort it eventually as i noticed that only went up a few hours ago. The guys opened offically yesterday and things seems to be looking pretty good. But you were first lol
