THE ENEMY IS AT THE GATES! ALL MEN REPORT IN!
Hello everyone and thank you for reading this. The total conversion some of you have been waiting for is here....not lol.
Now for real, We are looking for guys to help plan and design features. We are switching to PLAN/DESIGN mode. Now we are going to plan and design everything throughly and then do the work on it. What we need. -Planners for Maps -Planners for Vehicle and Weapon specs -Concept designers -Music Composers/Planners -Vehicles/Weapons designers/Planners -Floor plan designers and researchers -Map designers -Translators -German/Russian Speakers Then once we finish everything we will start working. After about 3 weeks of planning and designing we should be finished. Then we can start working. Once we start working, our design team will be finished except for a select few, and the rest can leave because we have no need for them anymore. BUT! Once we get into beta testing, all planners will have first grabs at it. What we will need for actual creating. (* must be very good at it) -Mappers* -Skinners* -Modelers* -Scripters* -Cut-Scene Designers -Music Composers -Graphics Design -Translators -German/Russian Speakers Then we can finish the mod within a few months if we get the right ammount of staff. Right now this is how many of what I need. PLANNING: 5-Planners for Maps 5-Planners for Vehicle and Weapon specs 4-Concept designers 2-Music Composers/Planners 6-Vehicles/Weapons designers/Planners 4-Floor plan designers and researchers 7-Map designers 4-Translators 4-German/Russian Speakers 7-Mappers 4-Skinners 4-Modelers 4-Scripters 2-Cut-Scene Designers 2-Music Composers 2-Graphics Design ~-Translators ~-German/Russian Speakers So for planning we need a good 47 people to get it done in about 3 weeks. We can do it with less people if we work hard. For actual working we need a good 25 people to finish the mod in about 4-5 months. I know we prob wont GET This many, but hey if people want the mod done soon then they should help out. Well hope you guys like what ya hear, and lemme say one thing, Our MOD wont have as many BUGS and ERRORS as MOHAA, we will have anti-cheat programs, and tech support. I've tried contacting them several times and got no answer, Im starting to think if they really care. I mean its old, I get no reply, who cares? Also about skinning and stuff, there wasnt americans in the russian war that the movie enemy at the gates is revolving around. Vance1, dont start crap here, you were kicked out of the mod for being imature and not working. As for rest of you, go sign up we could always use you! Let me sit down and talk to you for a second. Unlike you, I can do something, I can model, I run a clan and a TC mod. I am a Sergeant in ROTC and I have many ribbons and insignias for my uniform. I have infantry combat cords that go on my shoulder for competing in events at drill meets. I am on the Drill team. What do you do? Sit around here and flame people? Have no JOB? Have no LIFE? Have notthing to do but sit here show your ass to everyone and show how pathetic you are? Seems to me thats what your doing, and that seems to be the only thing your good at. See the modeling part of this mod I dont need jack shit from anyone I can do it all myself. But that would take a while. It gives the community a chance to help out in doing something for the benefit of a game. It gives people a chance to turn a game that has gone BAD by people many like youself, into something wonderful. But you wouldnt know anything about that would you? See I dont have patients with people like you, and If I were one of the admins, I would ban you and many people like youself. People like you are the ones who ruined this game for many. I am a good mapper that is learning everyday how tyo modify mohaa. I have learned howto map, script most animations in the game, custom texture, program bots(that aren't stupid) i.e. planes,death of a soldier, speech,etc.
I may have a handle on things, but I am FAR from being the best at what I do. I get ripped into sometimes. But I stopped caring. People that want to play what I make can play it. Those that don't can go screw them selves with a concrete dildo. That is my philosphy. I like Enemy At the Gates. I am huge fan of Vassili Zaitsev and the battle of Stalingrad considering that was a key end point in the war. Even if your mod didn't turn out great, it would only be because there weren't enough talented mappers, scriptors, designers, etc to take the load, not because you didn't try or put an effort into it. I'm sure it will turn out awesome. cool: |

I have been thinking. There are some of you who can make outstanding wall-papers. You can help out as well!!! Make some wall-papers for Enemy at the Gates. They need to look real and have a cool scheme to it. Fight scenes sniper scenes what ever. Just make it look good. If you have seen the trench rats wall-papers (one of which I use) thats kinda what I am looking for.

Get this thing written up as a proper business plan for a mod
Include timings, project leads and what your role will be. Just because you can't code, doesn't mean you can't be a leader. I couldn't code sh*t, but I know what I wanted to see on the screen, I got the people together to make it happen, the product , on the PC and the Amiga went to No1 in the UK charts. Daaaaamn that was a long time ago :) Don't let people talk you out of your dream. Go to EA/2015 , whoever owns the Intellectual property rights, and ask them about a shared profit development licence (you do the graft, they take the cream). Get in touch with the Enemy at the Gates people, and SELL THEM your idea. If they're willing to help you, then use it. Tell them you DO NOT intend to use characters from the film, but you'd like to use the settings and storyline. Better still, go to the book publishers and talk to them. Armed with this support, go back to EA and 2015. Next TONE DOWN the amount you "Big Up" EATG. This industry is full of people, banging on about the next best thing that doesn't happen. There are some developers, who go the right way about it. Ask discretly for coders, say jack, make small constantly updated websites, map screens etc. They BUILD UP the expectation. If you look organised, and know your sh1t, then people will help you. Get a commercial licence from 2015 to exploit the money angle. You may make a commercially viable mod, and the people who stuck in the hard work, may only end up with a couple of slabs of beer, but they get their name in lights and recognition, which could lead to employment.I don't see any reason why any coder/maper, should put in hard work, in return for fcuk all, apart from getting your name in lights. The art of leadership, is not getting your men to do what you want, to achieve your personal ambition. The art of leadership, is getting your men, to follow you, in achieving a common goal. So, start very small, and don't try and build a game by commitee, it won't happen. Get off your butt, download a screenplay generator from the web, and start storyboarding your idea. Once it's storyboarded, send a copy to anyone interested in working with you on this project,(Mappers, coders,2015) it shows commitment on your part. be prepared to have your ideas kicked to pieces. Don't sulk, but take the ideas on board, and implement them. Divide your team into cells. You only need one of each to start. Bored, if the creators of Counter-Strike had your attitude when they started Beta 1 way back when Half-Life was still quite new then you'd probably not be playing MoH at all now (if you do...).
To be fair they had a lot of support from Valve and modders for MoH have virtually no support at all, but all of the things that Sniper Wolf wishes to do are possible. Exactly what do you feel you are acheiving by attempting to shoot him down in flames? Take a deep breath, step away from your PC for a moment, and then go play a game of something, please. Sniper.. I do believe you sent me an email asking if I would help map for this mod a while back (if not, got the wrong person hehe, but it was for Enemy At the Gates - I even downloaded the film so I could watch it and see what it was all about hehe). If that was you, I'd have loved to help you with this project if only I had the time. With a little one on the way and various other commitments I could not offer enough dedication to map for a TC. However, if you want me to design a multiplayer map sometime if your TC takes off I'd be glad to do at least that. Either way, good luck with the mod. |
