BoB character weapons
 

does any body know where I can get a list of who used what weapons in E company? Specificaly who used the BARs.

A lot of the guys in BoB changed weapons around...They used anything really that they were given, and then anything they could find when they were dropped. I'm positive 98% of them are just riflemen. Watch the movie and take notes, I personally don't know.

I don't recall anyone using a BAR in Band of Brothers. I could very well be mistaken, but all I remember are M1s, Thompsons, Cobb's stupid grease gun, a 'zooka and .30cals.

Yeah as far as I can remember, I don't remember spotting a BAR, I'll take a quick glimpse at the movie poster I have, and some screenies.

...and there might've been some M1 Carbines in there too.

They had a BAR on episode 4, when they had to take that town and got raped.

In any case, the BAR wasn't very prevalent.

Was that the one that started with the LT getting shot when he jumped off the tank, and was with the binos, or when they crept up the road and were getting shot at from the houses, and Winters was trying to move them out?

I remember seeing a BAR in the attack on Foy. When everyone was running to the town.

BARs werent used much by paratroopers because of its weight and size, as if you fools didnt know that already biggrin:

well isnt that Shifty in that picture firing on the sniper in that pic? Look at the white helmet, and I think hes firing at the second sniper (The one that attacked during the singing on the tank, after the big battle) I remember Liptron saying to Shifty "Shifty;Dont miss" and i believe thats the picture

the sniper shifty bagged was in a bell tower while they were taking pictures

Weapons used by the 101st [506th] paratroopers:

M1 garand
M1 carbine (with folding stock only)
Thompson
Bazooka
60mm mortar
81mm mortar
LMG Browning M1919-A4 .30 cal Machinegun
and of course, garmon grenades, frag grenades, boot knifes, and the M1911A1 Pistol.

If you want to go by what really happened and use the series as hisotrical referance, then your a fool.
The answer is No, the BAR was not standard issue to the paratroopers, nor was the M3A1 (Greasegun) as seen in the series.
One does need to consider that mogority of the time fighting, and recieving replacements they had never jumped, and issued weapons might have changed.

People keep asking me if we will be adding the flamethrower to the BoB MOD.
Heh, I dont think many jumped out of a plane with a flamethrower straped to there back.

In the attack on Foy there's a couple guys with BAR's but no main charcters.

Lipton had an M1, but later on in the series (Bastogne) he has an M1.

Nope, the first sniper they encounter was in carentan i believe, hes sniping from a set of metal stairs and shifty spots him and kills him with the m1 garand. Second sniper is in bastogne i think, hes sniping from the top floor of a house and shifty gets him with the m1 while the other guys running to distract the sniper.

First revisions of it were shit, u had to have a magazine loader to reload a magazine, it was prone to jamming a lot etc.
