World War Two Online: Blitzkreig
You've probaly heard of this game. Some of you have probaly played it. But most of you have never experienced the latest in online multiplayer action. Jam packed of fights where ever you go. You can be on the front line on a head to head assault with Panzers and Char Bis 1's, Allied rifleman acting like snipers providing covering fire for advancing infantry. Enemy infantry rushing your base with smg's locked and loaded. Get into dog-fights with the nastiest war planes durring the time of war. Take a fleet of bombers and bomb the axis point of defense.

It is a outstanding game. I have been with the game since June 6th 2001 on the release date. Many of you will say ahhh this game sucks. But in all actuallity it doesnt. Yea it used to a little, but people like me love this type of stuff. The graphics have gotten better, there is cover EVERYWHERE. Trees are 3D now, new infantry model, new net-code, alot of new vehicles. There is even ambience such as birds, crickets, frogs, dogs, and in background you can hear battles going on from other towns. You get all this for a meer $13 a month. Some of you are like $13 a month?!?!? THATS ALOT....but in all reality it isnt. You can save 45 cent a day for a whole month and have enough money to pay for the next month. I dont know about you, but I at least have $1 a day in my pocket. Check it out, see how you like it. I hear there is a free trial coming up for people to "test" the game out. Check out these screenshots. http://www.3dgamers.com/screenshots/games/ww2online/ Then just head over to their site. http://www.wwiionline.com And if you are asked, tell em Wolf15 sent ya! |
I made a vow never to play that game again after i had to download that 193 MB patch on a 56K 2 years ago oOo:
That game had a good conecpt, but then failed. too many glitches, bugs, and cheaters (if you could find anyone online whoi played, most likely they were a cheater). BF1942 is the exact same thing, but a whole lot better |
cheaters? What the hell....you can't cheat in WWIIOL. Sure there are some bugs, and yea some people choose to exploit them, but isnt every game that way? As for the bugs, 90% of them are GONE.
No more Blue screen, only as select FEW get CTD, and I dont know of any other "BUGS." It has CHANGED from the release of the game. It is TOTALY different now. People like you just don't like fixing your problems, instead dumping it on others to fix, then if they dont, go elsewhere. I never have bugs in WWIIOL, nor seen cheaters. You cant CHEAT in wwiiol. |
no americans eek:
|
no americans YET! This is only 1940-1941 (1941 year change comes in 5 weeks). U.S. arent in the war until what? 1942-1944?
|
If it werent for the monthly fee i would buy it.
|
45 cents a day man! 45 Cents! You cant afford 45 cents a day?!?
on a side note. The developers work closely with the community unlike EA and many companies. They actually play the game with you, on many accounts I have played with MO, the head developer, DOC, HATCH, and KILLER. They also add onto the game every day for future patch's. |

The Germans fight back with futuristic laser weapon technology. The game looks kinda interesting, but I wouldn't pay per month to play it. |
I played it when it first came out, anda few months after when they "patched it up". I have to say I have always enjoyed the game, but I cannot stand pay to play. I will definitly be interested to see when the years progress. Will it be a whole new game? or just a download with all of the new weapons and armies?
|
LMAO @ Chronic Diarrhea
I understand that you dont like the pay to play idea. But who is gonna pay the server bill? Its .45 cents a day. That is not ALOT. Thats DAMN cheap. Later on down the road if you purchased the game when it came out you just have to download the updates. In later years the graphics will be alot better, there will be a wider map, more countries, alot of new weapons and vehicles, being able to get in/out of vehicle, bailing out, parachuting......... Hell Im willing to pay for that.....I would be willing to pay $15 even tho I dont got it lol. |
bump.
Want everyone to see this at the top. Maybe a sticky? *cough* Bazooka_Joe *cough* *wink* *wink* |
[quote:17e63]Hell Im willing to pay for that.....I would be willing to pay $15 even tho I dont got it lol.[/quote:17e63]
I agree with Wolf. I play the game and probably play the game too much, if you think 12 hours a day is a lot... The game is just that great if you are willing to pay hardly anything a month for it, which is what you will think when/if you start playing. If you played when it came out, then you will be surprised and amazed if you started playing it again today, since the latest patch has added some major updates. For all of you that haven't played it at all, you will get addicted just like me, if you like World War 2 games, and even if you don't, you will after trying this game out. Just keep checking out [url:17e63]http://www.wwiionline.com[/url:17e63] for the latest news on the free trial. Or, if you trust me, then just go out to your nearest computer game store and buy it for $14.99, then head to the site and subscribe then play, then come back here and tell us that we told you it is that great of a game. |
Trav...you forgot one thing.....30 DAY FREE TRIAL WITH EACH PURCHASE

remember the speed hacks in the game? probably not, you havent been playing it as long as i have i have been playing that game since june 24th 2001. i first fell in love with that game but now i despise it, the lag is unbearable and the infantry combat is bullshit btw whats your game name, im doggreen (axis sniper school) |
I have been playing since June 6th 2001. The day it was released.
The Speed hacks were caused by netcode errors/bugs. Which has been fixed. The lag is fine there is NO lag. If your system is good you shouldnt have any probs. I have 56k, pent 3 933mhz, 512mb ram, GeForce 4 Ti4200 128mb. I lag 0. They just put in a new net-code with the 1.8 patch. I am Wolf15, im a Brigaider General French Army, Former C/O 134th Infantry Regiment Allied High Command. |
im doggreen, major in german army, 1st Fallschirmjager rgt.
btw do you ever visit the ww2ol forums? doesnt bilton piss you off, and hathcock pisses me off too! |
I went out and bought that game the day it came out, for $100 NZD.....Only to find out that I would only get 3 months play before they imposed a bullshit fee on me.
Sure - The game is definitely a shitload of fun....I had a great time, even on the unfinished servers, with not many people, and a laggy ass connection. There is serious atmosphere....But it's just not worth that much money. |
I've played since june 6th too.
Game has just gotten better and better. Best atmospheric WWII game yet, IMO. |
Well the game was relased 8-9months early which would explain the glitches and the huge 100+ MB patch. I've often picked the game up at a store($20.00)only to put it back on the shelf. The only MMORPG I'll pay for at this point is Star Wars Galaxies.

WWIIOL is a great game.
I played the day it came out also as MOOXE. Buggy and very frustrating at 1st but the concept was so good about this game I couldnt stop playing. The community was great.... I would always fight in the Waterloo area and so would some other people.... So I'd logon and all the regulars would always be fighting in the same spot, you knew who was good and you knew who the newbies were. Most impressive about this game was the large formations of aircraft and organized assaults with TONS of players. I loved seeing bomber formations bomb me in a city... It was just great seeing the whole concept come to life. Even playing the German HT was fun... towing around an 88, being that guys lifeline. Not getting to shoot, but still having fun. That was very remarkable about this game, you could drive a truck and not get to kill anyone and still have a blast! The Panzer38T was by far my most favorite vehicle. Sitting on top of the high hill in waterloo on the defensive I was able to snipe CHARs and Soumas at +1500 meters. The AP round would come down on top of thier armour and I would rack up kills like you wouldnt believe. I ran outta ammo so many times. Alot of fun! Unfortunatley I had to unsubscribe because of the military.... To many exersizes and now I am deployed to Bosnia. I will be checking back into it when I get home though. This was my 2nd favorite game. The Close Combat series being my most favorite. |
My friend bought it. He said it got boring. I'd rather spend my money on Star Wars Galaxies.

I would try it, but I would want the free trial to download, and the upcoming one is a Mac trial. |
I've tasted persistent world fee games before (ex-EQ addict) so I'd be tempted to avoid this anyway.
However, I have one simple question to ask and the answer will sway me to buy or avoid. So I won't tell you which answer I'd like to persuade me to buy it cos you're obviously biased biggrin: Question is this: Is the game based on realistic physics (similar to DoD), or is it more similar to MoH stock, a little more swayed to favour arcade styles of play? Please let me know, I'm not paying for a game just to play it for a month. |
It is totally based on realistic physics. You have to keep your head down in this game if you want to survive, no MOH style arcade attacks. All vehicles can take all sorts of damage, infantry go down in 1 or 2 hits. Aircraft are superbly modelled which is one of the biggest praises this game recieves.
Graphics in this game arent nearly the best out today, it is the gameplay that keeps people playing and paying. The size of the game world and complexity of the physics is why you need a high end system. |
yea Slinky finally got my new videocard lol. When you gonna talk to me on msn? And as for trial, there is supposed to be a MAC and WINDOWS version coming very soon!
As for gameplay, its very realistic. You cant just run into a enemy base and act like rambo, you will die in a matter of seconds. Its simply awsome. Just to take a town or city you have to plan attacks, you have to get armor ready to sieze with infantry (as some call camping). Just check it out! You can buy it off the net from CRS For $19.00 and get 1 free month of play. Test it out, dont like it trash it! |
This is probably the most realistic I've ever played. The weapons all have somewhat realistic bullets, where you have to take drop into mind when shooting from long distances. There are so cross hairs for infantry, only iron sights.
The tanks damage model is amazing, I've even seen a vid that lays it out. If you know a tank historically, you have a good chance at killing it in game. You can hit a tank 30+ times in the spot and not to a thing, because the armor could be really thick there. You could also kill a tank in 1 hit if you know where the armor is weak and where to aim. You can shoot around the turret gunners posistion to kill the gunner, disabling it from shooting. You can shoot the tracks to disable it from moving. You can aim for the engine to make it smoke. All crew posistions in the tank are killable, and if the crew member dies that is responsible for a task, you can no longer perform it (driver dies no drive, gunner dies no gun, reloader dies no reloads) It's amazing how much detail they put into it. It may not be the best graphically, but the realism sure makes up for it. |
Ah ok, thanks for the replies, but that's exactly the reason I wouldn't play it.
I'm sure it's a great game for those who want to spend the time and effort dedicating themselves to it, but I don't have that time nor would I want to spend it playing a game online. DoD stayed on my drive for approximately 2 days. I just don't have the time to play ultra realistic games (not anymore). I prefer the games that I can pick up, play, and drop when I want to. Thanks though, but I'll give it a miss (Please don't tell me I'm missing out or it's my loss, I've been addicted to games like EQ and believe me, by not playing it 18 hours a day it is definitely not my loss, lol). |
