New Yorks the second safest city

Damn, I have been downtown tooling around in several of those cities in the past year. I bet you could narrow 90% of the crime listed there to < 5% of the area of those cities. Atlanta has never bothered me, but I stay out of the bad areas. New Orleans is nasty, Tampa and Nashville never seemed that bad, but memphis and miami can get ugly in a few short blocks. But what do I know?

You realize NYC is probly still pretty dangerous, the total # of crimes is probly higher than alot of those cities but the %'s are just out of balence because of the population deferences.

This is correct.

Here's some math kids.

City A has a pop of 100,000
City B has a pop of 1000

A has a crime rate of 10/1000 and B has a rate of 20 per 1000.

So while B has a higer crime rate among smaller sections, A by virture of its size has MORE crimes.

And this doesn't even take into account WHERE these crimes are commited. All of NYC's crime could be centralized in ONE area, while those in St. Louis could be spread out. Freaking New Yahkers.
