Name that aircraft!!!

Post your thoughts about your favorite aircraft!!!

Vance 04-20-2003 12:27 PM

No ME-262?!

newbieassulted 04-20-2003 01:30 PM

Or Go-229??!?!?!?

Megalith 04-20-2003 02:12 PM

The Go-229 was a prototype Nazi Jet Engine fighter made in the 40's. I didn't post it there cause not that many people know about it...besides, it's supposed to be TOP SECRET(during the 40's)...

Vance1, The Messerschmitt is also another WWII plane so I didn't post that there either. Sorry for the inconvienience...

Chronic Diarrhea 04-20-2003 02:16 PM

F-15 Eagle, with the F/A 18 and the A-10 close behind.

Innoxx 04-20-2003 02:28 PM

Millenium Falcon.

Megalith 04-20-2003 02:29 PM

Very funny...I'm talking about REAL aircraft...

pfft, the Tomcat owns the FA-18 in just about every category.
the FA-18E "super" Hornet is even worse.

Himmler 04-20-2003 03:21 PM

id have to say the super hornet, i LOVE fighter planes but my favorite is the tomcat but the super hornet is so much agile, faster and just overal better

11 Bravo 04-20-2003 03:26 PM

What the hell?! the F-22 owns.

the SH is by no means faster, it's underpowered and cannot carry too much internal fuel, which means it has to carry a bunch of droptanks, thus reducing the payload significantly.

Himmler 04-20-2003 03:39 PM

so tell me why it is the best fighter plane in the u.s. arnsenal?

Magnum 04-20-2003 03:57 PM

I've always been an F-16 fan.

04-20-2003 03:59 PM

the mig 35, the su-37, and the s-37

it isn't,
just that idiot of a Cheney fucked up with Tomcat 21 and we aren't getting a navalized F-22 so the Navy is stuck with Hornet.

04-20-2003 04:13 PM

tiem for the navy to switch to the jsf

Maplegyver 04-20-2003 04:58 PM

time for the canadian af to get combat ready planes oOo:

Megalith 04-20-2003 05:36 PM

The Mi-25 FoxBat can climb up above 90,000 feet.

The SR-71 can climb above 85,000 feet.

The F/A 22 can climb up to 50,000(Curse Paul Metz for being the first pilot!!! I am going to cry...)

The paper airplane can climb up to maybe 50 feet if thrown by hand from the flat ground. biggrin: But since there's wind resistance...

the JSF will be a good strike plane however the Navy will lack a fighter/fleet defender when the Tomcat's retired.

great idea, replace everything with an early prototype

11 Bravo 04-20-2003 06:46 PM

Well the F-18 is a good fighter, but the F-14 had longer range and more "brute force".

04-20-2003 06:47 PM

an Pheonix missile like the ones tomcats carry can engage up to 100 miles out

11 Bravo 04-20-2003 08:29 PM

Not to mention it can engage multiple targets at once wit dos things

cameltoe 04-20-2003 08:40 PM

huey!!!!!

Bazooka_Joe 04-20-2003 10:18 PM

My favs probably the A-10, just cuz I love the minigun that spews DU rounds.

Oddball 04-21-2003 07:12 AM

What about F1-11? Old but still outperforms some of the planes on the list.

Megalith 04-21-2003 07:22 AM

what about them X-02 and X-44 prototype future planes? biggrin:
