Anyone see this? I saw it a little bit ago on MTV about the world's best Quake gamer, world's best Golden Tee gamer, some guys in Tennessee who do nothing but play games ALL day but only console and some old guy in Florida who was the best Pac-Man player and all round asshole.

I thought the Quake kid was cool. Travels the world/country, gets free stuff and money.. The thing that struck me as cool was his fuckin mousepad! It was a big one like 1ft by 1ft. Anyone know where I can get a big ass mousepad?

Making a living playing games, eh? I have friend who does that here at the UofA. He just beta tests games and goes to E3 conventions and the huge LAN parties in Las Vegas and gets payed for it. I hate him. biggrin:

Personally I wouldn't want to play games all day and get payed for it. I hardly play any games anymore, most of my internet time consists of coming here and making graphics. The rest of my time is baseball and golf.

I agree with Chronic, I don't dwindle much in games anymore, do other stuff.

I used to like to watch this one guy play Quake, back in the university residence. That dude was a mutant, I swear.

He entered one of those world-wide Quake tourneys in 1997 and came 6th! Not too shabby. He didn't get dick all for it, but cool nonetheless.

I friend of mine went to E3 a few years back and won the conference Q3 tourney there. Pretty impressive if you consider the wall to wall gamer geeks there.

It sounds to me like you dont have a job. Shit, you let me keep my current salary and I would shine shoes or fetch coffee all day if my boss wanted me too. Instead, I crunch numbers, create spreadsheet, financial reports and supervise 40 year old children. Playng games for a living dont ound half bad. How is it a waste if it pays the bills? You will understand someday.

I am not saying it is for me either, but that certainly doesnt make it lame. As a matter of fact, most jobs arent for me, but I dont go around bad mouthing other peoples professions. A 10 yr old can play baseball. Does that make it lame to play baseball professionally?

umm...the thing is you can't compare baseball to computer games. computer games are designed for everyone. for example an experienced 10 year old could beat an experienced 25 year old in computer games, but an experienced 25 year old against a 10 year old in basketball...haha. and by the way, playing video games is NOT a profession

I wouldn't mind that job. He has a house, a company , money and a nice Focus. He isn't fat either, he looks quite slender and skinny. Since I haven't had my computer for like a month I dropped some pounds because I was out doors a bit. Kinda wierd oOo:
