I like paintball better.
Especially 3 day tourneys. |

paintball rules, they shoot farther too, airsoft would be better if they had good range

Actually, an average Paintball gun fires 220 FPS ( Feet Per Second ). My Tanaka Mauser Kar98 Fires 375 FPS.
A shitty Wal Mart Beretta 92FS Spring Airsoft handgun fires 275 FPS, that still beats out a top quality Paintball gun. |
Ferich, you must be referring to the shitty Wal-Mart Paintball guns, because my Paintball gun can fire MUCH MUCH faster than 220 FPS, as well as most mid to upper range paintball guns wink:[/quote]

anyone know if any new "Real Action Marker" series guns were released since the M-4?
|
so airsoft are basically paintball guns that look like real wepaons

You can purchases the BBs with Paint in them, and they do usually hurt, so you can tell when you get hit. I have a few whelts on my arms and one on my head from my friend putting his handgun pointblank on the back of my head.
And guarnere you're right somewhat. I said Average for a reason. Tippmann Airsoft guns, which are somewhat good average 250 - 310 FPS, but that still doesn't beat my Mauser. |

My airsoft luger fires about 310 FPS w/.20 and 375 FPS w/.12

For anyone who's interested:
http://www.air-soft.com/forums/index.php I'd have to say that airsoft is better than paintball because: -MUCH more realistic -cheaper -hurts less -less cheating and breaking of the rules -more possible scenarios/game types (eg: milsim, cqb, point shoot, etc) |

So much for realistic PB markers. I own the M-4 version, stock it shoots 375 - 400 fps. 300 is the only field legal speed around here some mines set right on 295. I'd probably get into airsoft but the guns cost as much as PB markers and im saving to fix or replace my car. One of my PB buddies owns an m4 airsoft and loves it, though he was sad when he saw my m4 PB marker, cause now i have the most bad ass marker that out performs what they shoot. He wishes he could bring his airsoft to play PB with us. Frankly i love his m4 and love how you have to change mags granted it is after an unrealistic number of rounds. As for the RAM m4. Its nice looking, the concept is cool, but in play it cost to much, and isnt very accurate. I calculated out what you would need gear wise and it came out to something like $1500 for a standard combat loadout. Even then the downsides were to high for it to be a viable PB marker. And to end the dispute... Airsoft has a higher FPS, with upgrades you can be shooting 500+ something a PB marker cant do. When mine fired 400, it was notoriosly inaccurate due to the ball distorting at high preasure. The solid pellet is far better for high FPS. Besides due to the area covered by a PB at impact most people say that 300 FPS + is enough to break small bones in your hand, while i've been shot at 320 it isnt a fun experiance. The small impact zone of the pellet means it may hurt more on exposed hands and such, but it wont do the same amount of damage. |
I'd give up my first born child and 5 fatted calves for an airsoft M1 garand. Hooooboy.

A few Jap kids made a Garand, but it's not for sale. Some company will catch on and make one, if they haven't already.
