We need to know for sure what your system specs are. Go into your computer, and find out, it's the only way we can tell you what's wrong.

riiiiiiiiite so i just open my computer...

Polaris 07-04-2001 03:07 AM

right click on "My computer" and then go to "performance" , that will tell you your RAm . then close that .

right click anywhere on the screen , go to "properties" , the "settings" , then click on "advanced" and then look from there to see what card you have .

then come back here and tell us what card and how much ram you have , so we can laugh at your ass

128 mb ram, and i think my adapter is what its called well its called ati rage 128 expert. if thats what your talking about.

Polaris 07-04-2001 03:52 AM

i dont know if OPFlashpoint supports that card . check the game's readme file to see if its on the list of supported cards . also you might want to try updating the card's drivers , go to Ati's site and look for their drivers for THE exact CARD that YOU have . and read how to install them .

Ludacris 07-04-2001 03:55 AM

all it says for my card is that it might not draw shadows properly or seomshit like that, so what the hell is going on poeple?/????

Polaris 07-04-2001 04:00 AM

update your drivers then

Hans 07-04-2001 04:44 AM

Bah, ATI is crap, I had one on my old computer. It ran some games great, and others like crap. Drivers might help, and they might not.

SoLiDUS 07-04-2001 04:44 AM

Look, my friend has a GF2 GTS, an athlon 700 with 512 megs of ram... when he runs the game at 1024x768, its choppy... well. around 30fps.. (which is choppy, mind you)

so, with a (excuse me) pathetic ATI RAGE 128, you dont stand a chance at that game.

Hey I'm interested in buying a video card but I wanna know what my computers specs are. I don't know if this is my video card or not butis a Intel 82810 Graphics Controller a video card? I also looked around and saw that no pc card sockets are installed. I also have 128 Ram. Can you guys help me? I'm looking for a video card that's less then 100 dollars. I can run Deus Ex with minimal problems. I think I either have 733 mhz or 800 mhz.

BallisticWookie 07-04-2001 08:20 AM

Yep, Lud, I got the same probs, thing is I have a, AMD Athlon 1 Gig CPU, 128 Mb RAM (soon to be 256) Geforce 256, ASUS A7V133 Mobo, I thought it would have been enough to run the game great, but I was wrong. I'm doing a system format and reinstalling everything, seeing all my games are running like a pile of shit, I'm getting under 10fps in Day of Defeat, and thats not acceptable. What Operating system are you running ?? Windows 98, Me ??? If you havent formatted your drives for a while it might be a good idea to do so, and yeah, get all the latest drivers that you possibly can, by the way is your Mobo a VIA chipset ?? If it is get the latest 4n1 Drivers, should enhance a few things on your system. And also buy a cheap Geforce 2, will solve alot of problems.

riesep, I'm thinking that the Intel 82810 Graphics Controller is your onboard graphics card, do please correct me if I'm wrong anyone, but if that is the case you seriously need to go buy yourself a new video card. You might be able to pick up an Geforce 2 MX for under $100 but I dunno, I have no idea where your from so I couldnt say anything about price, I'm just guessing but thats my answer. And to find out your exact system specs, if you have DirectX (any version) and you should do click on "DxDiag.exe" under the setup directory in DirectX. Run that and it will tell you everything, or you could just go to My Computer, click on Control Panel, then click on System, and mostly everything is in there. Hope this helps http://www.pcgamers.net/ubb/smile.gif

Right-click MY COMPUTER, go in properties, then DEVICE MANAGER. One of the sub-folders should be called DISPLAY ADAPTERS. Whatever is in there is your video card.. http://www.pcgamers.net/ubb/smile.gif

What you can get for under 100$, I have no friggin' clue..

I'm personally getting an ASUS AGP-V7700 DELUXE GEFORCE 2 GTS 32MB very soon.. gonna cost me 300$ but damn well worth it ! http://www.pcgamers.net/ubb/biggrin.gif

Wolfshook 07-04-2001 08:38 AM

I ran the demo just fine on my 500mhz, btw.

riesep 07-04-2001 09:10 AM

thx Solidus, but it is true it's the intel graphics controller. I just got this computer a little while ago so I really haven't upgraded anything. I did see however, an ad on gamespot for a Geforce 2 for 89 dollars is this a good card. There is no way I'm spending much more than 100 dollars. So if this is a good card for the money please tell me. I might also get more Ram (I've got 128), without going broke should I get an extra 128mb. It's true that you can add ram right, not replace it. and it's not too hard installing a video card and ram right. PLEASE REPLY!!!

riesep 07-04-2001 09:23 AM

What about this?

Here's a more constructive (self-proclaimed) advice, instead of laughing at your setup, which is quite pathetic indeed, Rage 128 + athlon 800? http://www.pcgamers.net/ubb/smile.gif

If it says it might not draw shadows properly, then go to display options (I don't have opflashpt) and uncheck anything that has to do with shadows. If that doesn't help, play at 640x480. If all else fails, try to play on software accel. mode (dunno if it's available). The game will be ugly, but at least it'll be playable. Try the shadow thing first, good luck http://www.pcgamers.net/ubb/biggrin.gif

You might all be thinking... 10 fps? Holy shit! What is your computer specs?

Here it is:

AMD K6 2 450 Mhz
Voodoo 3 3000 PCI
128 megs of SDRAM
12 gig HD- slow

Iam building a new computer in the next few weeks... here will be the computer specs:

AMD Athlon 1.2 Ghz
256 megs of RDAM
Geforce 2 MX 64 megs
40 gig HD-fast
WinME-OS

Hopefully this new computer will run the new games I plan on buying this fall...

If your getting a 1.2 Ghz CPU, make sure you get a decent Mobo, if you want a seriously awesome one get the MSI K7T266 Pro R DDR Mobo
You can overclock very easily with it and it's very stable. Also make sure you get DDR RAM (PC2100 CAS2) nothing less. You cant go wrong with that RAM. Make sure your Geforce 2 has DDR RAM at 5ns. Hard drive should be 7200 RPM no slower. And dont get Win ME, it's a pile of shit for games, stick with Win98SE or get Windows 2000 or even XP when it comes out.

SoLiDUS 07-05-2001 10:13 AM

That card is too outdated for *-my-* taste.

A GeForce2 for 89$ ? go get it man..

Should get you to run the game comfortably at AT LEAST 800x600...

You can always have more RAM http://www.pcgamers.net/ubb/biggrin.gif

JezusChr7st 07-05-2001 10:57 AM

oh man, this is the part that makes me smile and say "told you so"

see.... i built my computer about... oh 4 years ago

and i always laugh at you people who buy it from a store and just expect it to be awesome.

specs are:

pII 350
196(i think) megs of ram, dram too! crappy ram!
voodoo 2 3000 agp
umm, what else
dls if that helps which it doenst
erm... a rather slow 8 gig harddrive
what else is important.... not too much else that really helps FPS and such

but simply put,i can still knock the socks off most gamers... good connection speed of around average ping for DOD and CS of 90 or below
my frames per second can range from 60 in a good area lowest is 30... now this comp is 4 years old!! and crappy too!!!
how the hell do you people buy such peices of crap and not know how to make them work properly!?!!?

ok ok, calm down.
simply put, take some time... dont buy a computer with an integrated or store-bought video card, they usually find the most expensive one for the amount of power it gives you... which means you pay for nothing.

so lets just say, buy it... and config it.. change it the way u need it... dont take the store guys opinions valid in any way, shape or form.

if u need help just ask... im more then willing to help you with your problems

and.... btw, ATI cards arnt that great, BUT you can get a decent response from them... but you will need to look around... lots of updates and probably need to ask tech support

What kind of system do you have HAL 50000 ??

And really guys when your investing in computer parts you really do get what you paid for. So if you want anything thats gonna run fast, stable and reliable your gonna have to fork out the cash. Buying cheap components will only degrade your system, never buy cheap noname parts, you'll be sorry you did.
