you are to assume that you know how.

Old Reliable 06-25-2003 03:07 PM

you can't do that though, because learning to fly could change your opinion. aneighbor of mine learned to fly cessna's and now he flies helos

geRV 06-25-2003 03:07 PM

F 117 stealth. Saying that though its mainly computer controlled anyway. oOo:

Captain Bunny 06-25-2003 04:51 PM

ok old reliable, hypothetically speaking, you are an avid aeroplane fanatic with a full licence and a lot of experience in all types of aircraft, but you really really love flying planes. someone rich guy comes up to you and offers to give you any aeroplane you wanted, and he will cover all expenses that come with flying and owning the plane. He also ensures you that there would be no problem finding places to land and take off from, and it would be stored securely in a vast selection of hangers all over the world depending on where you landed.
Which aeroplane would you choose?

I would choose a Lancaster Bomber.

B-25 from the book "Whip" by Martin Caidin. true story, a group of fighters '335th' Death's head Brigade outfitted their B-25's with .50's. They took the glass nose out, and put in 8 count'em 8 .50's in the nose, all controlled by one button in the cockpit. 2 .50's for other gunner. They were gunships that the Japs feared. These planes would sweep over a fleet, open fire on the side of a destroyer. It tore it to shreds, and even the Zeros had an advasary

Unknown_Sniper 06-25-2003 09:49 PM

teh zeros already had an adversary. its called the hellcat. A pair of the mwould chase down a zero and shred it up. Zeros were made of wood and paper so rocks could kill them. They were so bad because of this though. They just floated around evryone etc. w/e

Office Depot 06-25-2003 09:58 PM

later on, corsairs ripped up the zeroes too.

yeah the last week of the war. The corsair was like communism. Worg beyond expectation on paper. When put in the field. Fell liek a rock. Suck on carrier landing, its nose was enormous, staleld out at first, over heated, if it werent for the british the corsair would have been scrapped

Miscguy 06-25-2003 10:07 PM

F-22

Misewell fly the latest and greatest.

ok buddy. this is wrong on so many levels. once up in the air, the corsair was the best navy fighter ww2 fighter. its diving characteristics were stellar, and it was very agile. its gull wing shape did make it somewhat difficult for carrier landings, but all planes were tough to land on a carrier. the corsair, was the best navy fighter of ww2 . ive read numerous books on ww2 aircraft and what you just said is absolutely hake: and oOo:

the earlier versions of the corsair had many problems, in the later versions the problems were corrected and they were put into service

Unknown_Sniper 06-26-2003 01:29 PM

ok yeah the corsairs were good in the air. What I was trying to say is that for the first couple of years after it was produced the corsair was good only once you got it in the air, and even then a hard plane to control if you were unexpierenced in it. A little touchy it was, and I know im right. as for pappy slugging me. He would punch all of you for thinging you know everything and you really dont. Talk to a vet of ww2 who flew a corsair. yeah they were great planes when they worked right. but they didnt always work right.
