Tony Blair to get the Congressional Medal of Honour

According to what I read today in the Daily Mail George Dubya has awarded the MOH to Tony Blair for his support against the war in Iraq.

it's a damn joke, never ever ever ever did we give a politician a medal of honor for sitting on his ass and blabbing about war, they're for exceptional bravery ON THE BATTLEFIELD

It is not required to be a U.S. citizen, but you must be in the U.S. military in order to qualify for the Medal of Honor

I also read that Winston Churchill got the MOH, but that newspaper is usually full of sh&t and you could prolly find all of Winston's medals listed on the net.

Congresswoman Ginny Brown-Waite (FL) has introduced legislation to award British Prime Minister Tony Blair the Congressional Gold Medal, the highest civilian honor that can be awarded by the United States Congress.

The article is a couple of months old, but the passage above is relevant to the conversation.

The GOLD Medal?

Haha....Yeah.

I'd rather an Olympic Gold Medal.......Actually, a mere Commonwealth Games Gold Medal would feel more respectful. hake:

I guess were gonna have a MOH sequel named after Tony Blair oOo:

Unknown_Sniper 07-02-2003 10:41 AM

this is bullshit. PLus they arent giving it too him yet. its says they have introduced legislation. meaning they are TRYING to give it too him...MOH: The Blair office. "Throw staples at the french, spit on the germans, because you are PM Blair and they have done nothing to help in afghanistan."

Reading comprehension is weak in this group.

No one is trying to get Blair the congressional medal of honor. They want to give him the congressional GOLD medal, which is a civilian award.
