IL-2 Sturmovik update?
 

When is it coming out? I thought it was supposed to be out awhile ago?

I heard they were trying to nerf some of my beloved VVS planes, so I don't think I'll be getting the patch.

well, ive been checking their forums every day, and the russian patch came out last week. they said august 12 th for the U.S. so we will see.

there you go. front page news. im at 50 percent done on the patch :) its not too too big only 41 mb. im reading the forums and ppl are saying great things about the new sounds. cant wait. also cant wait to fly the new aircraft! p51 woot! a bunch others too

read the thread in the general discussion area, there are no new aircraft in this patch due to people complaining about the size, new aircraft will be in a patch in a couple of weeks

heh i found that out just now....lol i dl the patch and went in to play it and i was like WTF!!! then i came back and read the threads rofl. i am kind of let down after all this waiting for the patch , no we have to wait even longer for the damn aircraft. oh well.

ok i fixed it.
i played multiplayer and found the server too laggy and too spaced out with only a few players. too realistic too actually enjoy the game (and by that i mean not once during the 45 minutes i played did i see an enemy fighter. when there was 8 enemies playing as i checked)

the new flyable planes will be coming along shortly , just wait it out a week or two more. also, they have like 20 threads of the new patch on the IL2 forums, if you want to see whats new good or bad, definately check out the forums there

from those forums it sounds like they made the FW-190 the uber plane and those n00bs are happy, damn nazis.

ya, i personally dont care for the dora. its a damn wild bird on the stick. too touchy for my likes. i prefer bombers, i love the stuka and he 111 , also of course the sturmovik. 109's are great to fly as well. love the I-16, i think that is my fav plane in the game, love the manual gear

from what I hear the I-16 has been nerfed, along with the La5FN

too many luftwaffe whiners bugging the developers, they don't care that FB WAS historically accurate, they just want VVS planes to be sitting ducks so they can get more kills in MP (an SP for that matter)

they improve the FW-190s but failed to improve the P-47, which many say is quite incorrectly modeled.

I am under no circumstance getting this patch for FB, I'm waiting for the next patch that fixes all the fuckups they put in this patch

this is an open beta patch, its not completely done yet, but its not that bad(it's quite good actually)

i think its very good. the sound alone is worth getting the patch imo. plus the new corkscrews when you down aircraft is awesome. the take off dust and prop wash at ground level flight is outstanding. the fm dont bother me that much. i used to play online hardcore , now i mostly do qmb , thats fun for me. the online stuff got too bad with the huge ping diff with this game. lotsa 56kers cry:

Do you believe everything you hear? I have no problem taking down FW-190s, if anything the patch helped me with that.

the Yak-3 was undeniably the BEST propeller fighter of WWII, Germans were told to AVOID entering combat with it. If for any reason the Yak-3 loses this position the only reason can be purposeful nerfing, to appease the n00blets who play German.
