If it's legal to own a .50-Cal sniper rifle? I know, I'm in the military, but I've never gotten into owning weapons. I want one for my 25th birthday.

In NYC, dunno. But other places in the world call that a big game rifle, barring the obvious things like full auto and large capacity clips.

Hey Joe, I did a quick check on >50 on the NRA site - I didn't find anything but I'm sure they have it there somewhere. I did find an article about how Diane Feinstein has authored a bill to ban them AND to confiscate all the current ones, even if they are legally owned. that would be the biggest waste of money ever. you dont need a gun that fucking big when you live in the city. if you were a farmer or a big time hunter than i could see but otherwise it seems just like a penis extention to me.

Most muzzle loader/black powder guns are in the .50-.55 range. The new breed blackpowder guns can get away with a .45 round due to stronger, rifled barrels, but hte purists dont like them since they arnt quite primative arms anymore. Some states wont let you use the new style stuff during primative arms season.....Just in case you were wondering.
