HBOs Angels in America

this is just about the gayest thing ive seen--its all about gay people crying and stuff. I heard it was like a modern day its a wonderfull life, but its about gay people, and dudes messing with dudes. Its suopposed to be like amazing and brilliant, but im about to turn it off-its like a softcore gay porn or something. anyone else watching it?

Vance 12-07-2003 08:55 PM

TGB! 12-07-2003 09:31 PM

i am in utter disbelief that a dude with the user name "a gay blade" who types in pink could like this program! ed:

There is little I hate more than people calling other people "homophobes."

the suffix, -phobe usually suggests a fear, such as hydrophobia, a fear of water. But most people who are called a homophobe are actually not scared of gays, they just don't like them...Like me. I don't like gays, that doesn't mean I'm scared of them, because I know I am definately not scared of them mad:

negative 12-07-2003 10:17 PM

but did anyone else see it?

hello HBO...could i have 3 hours of my sunday night back?

lamest ending ever, there wasnt an ending-its supposed to be an ending where you decide it yourself...but the plot wasnt good so its too hard to do that. I guess i cant tell which part is my fav. The girl going to Antarctica with the random black guy playing the clarinett, or Al Pacino crawling arround on the ground.

it also upsets me that "the gay blade" or whatever has ruined my thread by starting a homophobic war....wait I just learned there is a part II well i spoke too soon

JBird 12-07-2003 10:20 PM

i actually watched like 25 minutes of it. a boring relationship between a repressed semi psychotic housewife with wander lust , and an effeminate husband who likes teh cack too. sleeping:

other part i saw was a gay couple talking on a bench and the guy reveals he has KS? is that some kind of aids? i didnt know, then they were at a cemetary and he was talking to some rabbi sleeping:

then i left and jerked off to some hetero porn to cleanse myself rock:

negative, thats showtime. this is an hbo production with an ensemble cast and a bunch of hype.

kudos though because this is probably equal in gay content, which, is why i stopped watching it in the first place. why is everything so gay ? what is this gay revolution that is going on. queer cock for the straight ass, will and grace, queer as fuck, gay gay gay gay gay .

its fucking gay. calmdown:

Wilko 12-08-2003 05:21 AM

Gay seems to be the Trend at the moment (Queer as folk, that god-awful 'Queer eye for the stright guy, etc), so i guess taking a tried-and-true story like the 'Wonderful Life' one, and adding some Gay chaps into it seemed like a ratings winner.

If it had been a month ago, it would have been a 'Matrix' version, or something.

If your overall objection is not to the subject matter, but to the blanket generalized dislike of mormons for no other reasons then they are mormons then yes. If you replaced Blacks with gays, this wouldnt be a discussion, it'd be clearly seen as a bigoted comment. Again I say to check your manhood and enjoy a Tony and Pulitzer winning piece of work.

We arent talking bigotry, we are talking phobias. My dislike for gay programming doesnt make me scared of them. I cannot control blanket dislikes anymore than the next guy, its human. Our prejudices are based on our experiences and its impossible to not have them affect our decisions. Every time I choose a channel on my tv, I discriminate against the other 200 based on my likes and dislikes.

So, if this conversation was about blacks instead of gays, I would be blackaphobic and need to check my whiteness?

The word homophobe was coined by someone wishing to push their own personal agenda by purposefully putting a negative conotation on the opposing view. How very pc.

im gay ed:

TGB! 12-08-2003 03:39 PM

Homophobia is quite simply a fear, aversion, or discrimination of homosexuals. It has nothing to do with cowering under your CHiPs blankets for fear that the men in Pink with the white scarf will be coming to do naughty things to your buttocks. Disliking a great piece of literature for the simply fact that it involves gays is incredibly limiting and ignorant.

[quote:dbef5]im gay.[/quote:dbef5]

Nothing wrong with that stud, and if you want I can PM you some good literature and some really saucy mature reading. That goes for anyone else here who might be "confused" or looking to experiment a little bit. happy:

Typical that all sensuality has to come down to "physicality". And "elton john". How evolved.

Some of my best friends are gay..

LOL

Thats sounds as lame as the "some of my best friends are black" line.

Personally, I could care less, which is exactly why I wouldnt care to watch the show. Queer eye, on the other hand isnt entirely lame (yes, the wife gets the clicker sometimes.). I get a kick out of the first 5-10 minutes of the show when they rag on the guys place and clothes, the make over stuff is boring.

ed:

TGB! 12-08-2003 05:10 PM

Queer Eye is absolute dreck. Rubbish. Turning homosexuality into a gimmick more than a right-to-life. And the guys arent even attractive. They do get double-snaps for their clothes though!

And I recommend everyone to tune in just because it a wonderful piece of literature. Cheers.
