http://www.cnn.com/2004/US/Southwest/02 ... index.html

Thats pretty fucked up, good luck finding a new job.

Sgt>Stackem 02-13-2004 09:49 AM

he has a job to do. If he is anti-gay should he refuse medication for AIDS too?

Airborne Butters 02-13-2004 10:05 AM

If you get raped, why would the first place you go to be Eckerds?

Reading comprehension is weak in this one. She went to at least hte doctor first and I am assuming the police. She had to get a prescription somewhere. Duh....

Airborne Butters 02-13-2004 10:11 AM

I'm sure if you go the hospital or something they have that type of medicine.

OIC, now that makes more sense.

Airborne Butters 02-13-2004 10:26 AM

I personally respect the guy for upholding his beliefs.

Madmartagen 02-13-2004 10:31 AM

I think the morning after pill is a series of pills you take every couple of hours. The hospital wont necessarily hold you the entire time and only give you a portion of the medicine you have to take. They give you a prescription to go and get the rest from a pharmacy to complete the process.

Still, you can uphold your beliefs and not deny a patient the medicine that was prescribed to them. It isnt an abortion pill, so I dont see how this persons beliefs come into place. If the person was already pregnant, then I would understand, but the medicine prevents pregnancy from taking place.

Duke_of_Ray 02-13-2004 10:35 AM

Not sure here, but it could have have risked the life of the baby.

pest 02-13-2004 10:42 AM

Choices and consequences.

Airborne Butters 02-13-2004 10:43 AM

I'm not saying I agree with him, just the fact that he stuck to his guns in the face of pressure.

KTOG 02-13-2004 10:52 AM

That's respectable.

Zoner 02-13-2004 10:55 AM

That is by far the most disgusting thing I've read in the past 2 minutes. biggrin:

Seriously though, those pharmacists should be ass raped themselves. Absolutely appalling conduct for such a profession.

Pyro 02-13-2004 10:55 AM

Well she was raped...

KTOG 02-13-2004 10:58 AM

Have you ever been in a situation at work where you've had to judge between your morals and work ethic? Say you work at wal-mart and a bunch of your friends want you to steal cd's for them and you know the security camera is over your head. Do you do it out of respect for your friends or save your job? I know this is a different situation but this lady should have gone to the hospital first not Eckerd.

She did see a doctor first, she had a prescription. This isnt an over the counter thing, if the pharmacist has problems handing out medicine, then that person should not be a pharmacist.

Zoner 02-13-2004 11:14 AM

A close friend of mine was raped when we were in university. Through helping her out in counselling and just being there for her afterwards on the night it happened, I can tell you that when you experience a trauma like this, you don't exactly think rationally.

She did what she thought would have helped her out immediately and that was go get this drug. Then, we have some fucking religious zealot who's job it was to help those in need flatout DENY her?!?! That's beyond dispicable.

Bazooka_Joe 02-13-2004 11:26 AM

The parmacists decision was based on religious grounds, therefore you are wrong. It's not "Mose's Eckards" or "Shalom Eckerds". You do your job, end of story.

What baby? This is a preemptive measure taken to avoid becoming pregnant? The pharmacist is just too stupid or is too much of an uncompromising zealot to accept the fact that the morning after pills do not abort pregnancies. You cant abort something that hasnt taken place.

Unknown_Sniper 02-13-2004 02:31 PM

dude im sure tha tgirl flipped. one of my friend had to take that pill cause a condom broke and she was fucking going insane praying she didnt get pregnant.
