That's pretty nice. I got my Grandfather's war medals as well, 'cept they are all Australian. He got an MBE, which i thought to be pretty impressive. Dinner with the Prime Minister and all that rock:
This one ain't his, since my digital camera sucks, but it's what it looks like for those who don't know; (btw: I'm not trying to hijack the thread, I'm just adding my $0.02 biggrin: ) btw, Dude, that jacket looks excellent Something to be proud of, without a doubt. |

naw, you just need a "destructive device" license, which is even harder to get than a class-3 (which allows you to own full-autos, including belt-fed MGs) |
Cool man

he was in wwII, Korea. WWII-Army Aircorps, Korea-AIrforce. retired seinior master sergeant. then the highest enlisted rank. medals- good conduct medal, Korean service medal, wwii service medal (i think.) my great grandfather was wounded in wwI. my other grandfather was in Korean war homefrount airforce. military is in my blood. rock: |

Buy one. Remove the firing pin. What you have left is a historical - inoperative model. I have tons of stuff , from familly and things I have collected on my own. Lots of pictures too. Dave has some cool stuff too , Hopefully he'll post some pics. |
they're expinsive if you dont shop around....
I own a Mosin-Nagant 91/30 rifle, made in 1942. Awesome Rifle, but has pretty good kick to it. I also have a World War One British Rifle made in 1916. These are pretty cheap rifles, can get a nagant for about 90$, and a Lee Enfield from 120-160$.
gunsamerica.com is pretty fair in some places. but u gotta pay $200 bucks to "join" so you have "access" to buy. hake:
Best place to buy imo is http://www.aimsurplus.com. You need either a C&R to order any rifle made before 1952, or the SKS, or a FFL to order a rifle like the Ak-47. Also you can have it shipped to a dealer, and pay him a small fee for handling the order, usually around 20$.
my freind bought a ak-47 for $300 at a gunshow. i've seen airsoft guns and once, a non--firing replica of a ak for more than that!!!!
300$ is pretty good for an AK. at the price it is probably not Russian, but Romainian, a WASR10 or Sar-1. Still though 300$ is not bad for one at a gun show, especially if it is a Sar-1.
i'll see if i can get teh pic of him w/ da gun.
I saw some american medals on e-bay. They have everything but he medal of honor is seems. Fucking idiots. Grandfather storms the beach at normandy and gets a capaign medal and jack ass grandson sells it on e-bay to get a whole 20 bucks out of it. Fucking losers.
How did he get to take home the rifle because they usally dont let you take home stuff like canteens.

probably not. Since the fall of the Soviet Union and if there was it would all be in Lithuanian or Russian. You can search "Trimakas" but i doubt you will find anything. |
I wish I would have asked my grandfather a lot about WW2 when I was younger.. :(
Damn kids and their ignorant ways. |
very nice pics.
