I used to go to Canada with my family and go fishing for a week. Good times...friendly Canadians...yep, yep...sure, it all ended when my parents got a horrific divorce. But, I still like Canadians...unless they say Americans are gay...then ill drive up there, knock on their door, pretend my car is broken down and I need to use a phone....then, while they lead me to the phone, i'll take quick note of the amount of people in the house. Then, I will proceed to stab the first person repeatedly in the throat whilst covering their mouth. If there is anyone else present...repeat until there are no more victims...and then leave the scene unscathed. But thats only if they say they think Americans are gay!
P.S. I had a bad day! happy: |

It not because anyon e is American. Its more issues that people turn into a national thing.

I don't have a problem with canadians at all. From what I have seen of Canada, its a great, freindly country. It's extreme liberals that ruffle my feathers. I don't care where your from.

Liberals aren't left winged. They are in the center. Which to me is perfect. (Thats at least how the Canadian Liberal party of Canada is). An example of a left Canadian political party would be the NDP. while the Right wing is the Conservative Alliance(I forget the new name after the party merger recently) oOo: To me besides the few scandals the Liberal party of Canada has been doing a fantastic job. |

How much movies do you wathc thats American made? A lot... How much movies do I wathc thats Canadian made? Ie mever even heard of any but porn... Other then shirts with Canadian flags or that says Canada on it, does the clothes you were American made? Or American Company Made? Me? Ive only wore 1 Canadian shirt and that was one that said "I Crossed the Border to Canada! Eh!" But it had that tag on the back with the fruit so it was American made probaly... Have you ever ate at McDonalds? Burger King? Tco Bell? Dominoes? Papa Johns? Sonic? Do you watch football?? Your Canadian hockey teams play in Americas NHL-National Hockey League, National as in the Nation....USA..... Youve played an American made game (MOHAA), Ive never played a Canadian made game. Do you have Windows? Is your computer a Dell? Macintosh? IBM? All Im saying is that Canada uses and copies all Americas stuff, alothough yall are defiantly not the only ones, just about every country in the world really...yet everyone hates us.... |
OK, i'll respond in a respectful manner. This is just a discussion.
How much movies do you wathc thats American made? A lot... How much movies do I wathc thats Canadian made? Ie mever even heard of any but porn... [/quote:25dfd] Yes, America is the highest producer of films in the world, so its only by numbers that the majority of movies that the world watch are American. That doesn't mean Canada doesn't make movies, and it certainly doesn't mean we don't make movies because you have never heard of any. So how is the number of films the US has made impact our culture? The IMDB lists 11768 Canadian Movies. http://www.imdb.com/List?tv=on&&countri ... All;Canada [quote:25dfd] Other then shirts with Canadian flags or that says Canada on it, does the clothes you were American made? Or American Company Made? Me? Ive only wore 1 Canadian shirt and that was one that said "I Crossed the Border to Canada! Eh!" But it had that tag on the back with the fruit so it was American made probaly... [/quote:25dfd] I don't think i've ever seen an American made shirt. Most of my shirts are made in China, Taiwan, Israel and other countries. Again, so becase I wear a shirt that is from an american company, I can't have my own culture? I sure there are French, German, British, Australians and every other nation who wear tommy hilfiger, guess, levi etc. and I don't think you woud argue any of those countries not to have their own culture. Have you ever ate at McDonalds? Burger King? Tco Bell? Dominoes? Papa Johns? Sonic? [quote:25dfd] Do you watch football?? [/quote:25dfd] Yes, I watch football. I watch the Canadian Football League, which has actually been around quite a bit longer than the NFL.. This year is the 92nd year CFL teams will play for the Grey Cup. If you want to read about the CFL you can here: http://www.cfl.ca/CFLHistory/shorthistory.html IT says the CFL can trace its roots back to 1823. I think there's a lot of culture in Canadian Football. [quote:25dfd] Your Canadian hockey teams play in Americas NHL-National Hockey League, National as in the Nation....USA..... [/quote:25dfd] so the word "national" means USA? I dind't know that. na·tion·al ( P ) Pronunciation Key (nsh-nl, nshnl) adj. Of, relating to, or belonging to a nation as an organized whole: a national anthem. Of or relating to nationality: their national origin. Characteristic of or peculiar to the people of a nation: a national trait. Of or maintained by the government of a nation: a national landmark. Being in the interest of one's own nation: Isolationism is a strictly national policy. Devoted to one's own nation or its interests; patriotic. I don't see anything about the USA specifically there, although the US would be considered a nation, much the same as Canada would. And why is the NHL an American league? The league started out with 6 teams. 4 American: Boston, Chicago, Detroit and New York. And 2 Candian: Toronto and Montreal. That aside, I could direct you toward the cup. The Stanley Cup was actually the idea of Lord Stanley, the Earl of Preston and Governor General of Canada. He said this: "I have for some time been thinking that it would be a good thing if there were a challenge cup which should be held from year to year by the champion hockey team in the Dominion (of Canada). "There does not appear to be any such outward sign of a championship at present, and considering the general interest which matches now elicit, and the importance of having the game played fairly and under rules generally recognized, I am willing to give a cup which shall be held from year to year by the winning team." You can read about the Stanley cup and the history of the NHL here: http://nhl.com/hockeyu/history/cup/cup.html and here: http://nhl.com/hockeyu/history/evolution.html [quote:25dfd] Youve played an American made game (MOHAA), Ive never played a Canadian made game. [quote:25dfd] No? What about Rainbow Six? Prince of Persia? Myst III? FIFA Soccer? NBA Live? NHL Series? MVP Baseball? Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow? All Canadian made. [quote:25dfd] Do you have Windows? Is your computer a Dell? Macintosh? IBM? [/quote:25dfd] Yes I have windows. So does this mean that the US's culture is a product of Microsoft? Thats what defines your country? Anyway, nobody's disputing that the US makes a lot of products, and exports them around the world. I'm sure 80% of the computers in France have windows. [quote:25dfd] All Im saying is that Canada uses and copies all Americas stuff, alothough yall are defiantly not the only ones, just about every country in the world really...yet everyone hates us....[/quote:25dfd][/quote:25dfd][/quote:25dfd] Your confusing product useage with culture. Just beacuse I use an American computer or watch American movies, doesn;t define my culture as being American. American s and Canadians have a similar origin. We enjoy many of the same things. Does this mean that CAnadians don't have a culture of their own? I don't believe so. I think Canada has a great culture and a great history. Do you know the country the US imports the most from? Canada. Do you know the country Canada imports the most from? USA Canadian culture is alive and well. |
JESUS FUCKING CHRIST. YOU PEOPLE TAKE INTERNET FORUMS TOO SERIOUSLY. FUCK.
