yeah rofl good guards. the guy just walked out of the building and fund an american patrol lol

05-04-2004 08:50 AM

maybe they got tired of feeding him biggrin:

or perhaps the forgot to watch him in shifts and got no sleep and passed out

05-04-2004 08:57 AM

Maybe they let him ago and he wanted to feel big and say he escaped?

Just thinkin' of all the possibilites. Iraqi's have let em' go before...

Madmartagen 05-04-2004 08:59 AM

Guards were probably smoking hookah in the back. happy:

a lot of things can happen in 2 months, right now we are at the point where things can go our way or go real sour real fast, only time will tell; that's why promising a set date may not have been a good idea.

I was watching this story last night, my wife had not seen it yet.

And it turns out the guy had escaped before, but couldnt find any American soldiers, and was recaptured.

This time he waited until he heard a convoy coming by before escaping.

Arkan 05-04-2004 02:08 PM

Smart and lucky guy.

imported_Fluffy_Bunny 05-04-2004 04:46 PM

Good job, I was hoping this chap would escape.

Pyro 05-04-2004 04:47 PM

too bad the iraqi prisoners who the us soldiers were torturing didn't get out free as well.

You call that torture? BWAHAAHAHA, hardly.
Check out the book "Flyboys" when you get some free time. You'll read about some nice torture in there.

the fact that news got out shows that the high level commanders are not trying to hide anything (maybe the underlings who did it are though, but they are in the minority)

You're probably right about that. Torture of POW's is a fact of life. I don't think the majority of prisoners were abused though. I'd much rather be tortured by Americans than by the Iraqis....at least you know you'll live through some humiliation.

Drew 05-04-2004 08:35 PM

Pyro, would you please stop trying to stir up the whole nationality flame war again?

Thank you in advance for trying not to act like a spoiled 12-year old.

Not too sure about that.....but i do remember seeing images of American troops who were ahot in the head and left for dead lying in a pool of blood. Also, wasn't Jessica Lynch sexually abused by her captors?

It started a civil discussion and didn't turn into a flame war though.
