Favorite "chills up you spine" Song?

What song gives you chills everytime you hear it? Dont be afraid to post even if it is stupid. Mine is Dave Matthews - Crash Into Me . The snare in the background is just beautiful.
Anyone else?

Amazing Grace....whether its sung, played on bag pipes...anything.

My grandfather used to sing it all the time before he passed away from cancer.

I was at a relay for life for the american cancer society last saturday and they had a viewing of all the names of those who we lost on a powerpoint presentation

They played that song and I was fine untill I a little closer to the presentation..then the tears start welling up and I just think back to him.

It was sung by a member of our church at his funeral and it was the best I have ever heard it..that song is very emotional to me

TonyMontana 05-21-2004 06:10 PM

yeah amazing grace is one of them...

Zap. USMC 05-21-2004 06:12 PM

Yeah, I totally forgot about Amazing grace. At my Grandfathers funeral they played Amazing Grace with bagpipes and I nearly let loose with tears.. very emotional song.

I usually play it though every Memorial Day for the anual ceremonies. It's awesome how only a few notes could actually make people cry.

Coleman 05-21-2004 07:31 PM

[quote="Crpl. Crunch":eaf0f]The score for Saving Private Ryan[/quote:eaf0f]anything by John Williams is AMAZING. I'm into composing music and I've analyzed some of his work and it is just perfect. I don't know how he uses borrowed chords from the relative minor key to fit in with the major key so well.....in non-musical terms---he gets a 'sad' sound out of a piece that is built around a 'major scale'.

My favorite songs of his are from Jurrasic Park.

D.O.A by Bloodrock form about 1970 really an spooky song, here is the lyrics"
From the album "Bloodrock 2"

Laying here looking at the ceiling
Someone lays a sheet across my chest
Something warm is flowing down my fingers
Pain is flowing all through my back

I try to move my arms and there's no feeling
And when I look I see there's nothing there
The face beside me stopped it totally bleeding
The girl I knew has such a distant stare

I remember
We were flying along and hit something in the air
I remember
We were flying along and hit something in the air

Then I looked straight at the attendant
His face is pale as it can be
He bends and whispers something softly
He says there's no chance for me

I remember
We were flying along and hit something in the air
I remember
We were flying along and hit something in the air

Life is flowing out my body
Pain is flowing out with my blood
The sheets are red and moist where I'm lying
God in Heaven, teach me how to die

I remember
We were flying along and hit something in the air
I remember
We were flying along and hit something in the air
