jujumantb 05-21-2004 11:02 PM

Our main oil refinery in minnesota had problems and has shut down for a few weeks so the midwest will see a nice peak up to $2.50 predicted. I doubt it will get THAT high though but who knows.

Coleman 05-21-2004 11:05 PM

does anyone know actually how much oil we have up in the alaskan region? I know we have reserves up there, but how much? From my little knowledge on the amounts of fuel up there, i think we should start digging. It's only a matter of time that north america will eventually turn to another form of energy for transportation. If we have about 20 years worth up there, I think it would be a wise choice to tell the antelope to get the fuck out.

$2.47 in Cali annoy:

ninty 05-21-2004 11:32 PM

How much do you pay for a liter of water?

Now how much do you pay for a liter of gasoline?

I don't see why people are complaining when everyday people buy $5 starbucks coffee and pay $2 for a bottle of pepsi from the vending machine. Is pepsi actually worth more than gas?

I know the reason people are pissed off is that gas prices have remained pretty steady for the last few years, but i've heard that the oil supply could run out in 10 years. So expect prices to go even higher. Even though half of gas prices go to tax. I guess you can ask the government about that.

intrestedviewer 05-21-2004 11:35 PM

I am poor, this hurts my wallet oOo:

KTOG 05-22-2004 05:25 AM

Syphon gas ... thats what all the cool kids do.

Bane 05-22-2004 06:01 AM

The last tank I bought was yesterday at $2.08 per gallon. I'm paying about $30 per week for fuel.

3/3 Marine 05-22-2004 06:18 AM

$2.19 here.....I'm now seriously thinking about getting rid of my truck (98 silverado) and might look at one of them hybred cars. They may not look too cool, but at least I'll be getting 70-80 mpg, while the hotrods are sitting in the driveways.

Here is my theory on hybrid cars.

I believe the only reason (for the time being) to buy a hybrid car is if you are trying to enviromentally sound.

Lets say you buy a hybrid car for 30,000 dollars, the insurance will be higher because its a new car and its a hybrid. With extra money you spent on the car and the insurance you can afford the gas. Since you own a truck, you have the ability to haul things, while hybrid cars are relitively small. If gas rocketed up to 3.50 - 4.00 a gallon then i would consider it, but for now the costs don't exceed the benefits.

Old Reliable 05-22-2004 06:43 AM

actually another problem is the price of milk...notice how much its gone up. here its 2.99 for a freakin ggallon

05-22-2004 08:18 AM

fucking 2 bucks here in middleofnowhere Kansas

too bad my ego is too big for small Jap crap cars

KTOG: just don't get in a wreck in a hybrid, I heard on the news that firemen may not be able to slice these open like a regular car due to risk of extreme high voltage

Miscguy 05-22-2004 08:34 AM

2.50+ per gallon.

Merlin122 05-22-2004 01:32 PM

Rannoch 05-22-2004 02:33 PM

Harde har. Complaining about two bucks a gallon.

In Caliscrewyou, its $2.40+ for the cheapest stuff. Not as high as you per liter dudes, but thats what you get for buying by the liter. It'd be cheaper if you converted to US measurements biggrin:

I'm pretty sure they did once but it spilled and killed tons of animals. And they are afraid that if they try to get it, it would ruin the enviroment.

My dad gets FREE gas. happy: happy: happy: happy:

9mm BeRetTa 05-22-2004 02:46 PM

how many hours can i get with 5 bucks? before i make my purchase, how much does your mom weigh?

Zap. USMC 05-22-2004 02:52 PM

It's like 2.15 a gallon here and it's RISING cry:

I was seriously considering putting my Grandfathers old 1980 Chevrolet Custom Deluxe on the road before I ship out but I don't think I'll want to do that since the damn gas prices aren't going to go down... don't feel like dishing out $40+/week for gas JUST to drive to school and back.

Unknown_Sniper 05-23-2004 12:38 PM

in one day I saw the price rise from 1.99 to 2.05 per gallon. This sucks. if it goes any higher I wont be able ot afford to drive my truck. I need to get a more uh "efficient"(aka fast) car.
