warning, if you buy computer parts online

DO NOT BUY FROM THESE GUYS

i bought it with my bank card, i got the money from a friend of mine, Ben
$150 bucks to buy a

Intel Processor - Pentium4 478pin Processor 2.4GHz (800FSB) CPU - (PWS)
SKU: CPU@8002.4

for $135.82 --- 143.88 after shipping etc.

I had to give them my name / address / etc. etc.
along with my phone number, credit card number / credit card bank's number etc. nothing out of the ordinary.

but, they called my house to 'confirm' the order i guess there was nothing wrong with that so i called them back.

The email that was sent had the wrong phone numbers, and i had to call back the number that they called me on to get a respsonse.

Some middle eastern man picked up, don't get me wrong iam not racist or anything, but the fact that i know this company is in california, and this guy is in india being OUTSOURCED pisses me off. I can't understand middle eastern people. anyways.

He wanted to charge 143.88 to my card, after i have already paid and the amount has already been withdrawn from my account. I had to read back the order number like 3 times for him to figure out i've already paid....

then some middle eastern chick picked up the line and wanted to charge me $18 bucks for the same chip just a """""NEWER VERSION""""" which supposobably from what she said is suppose to have less problems, they have been selling this chip for 2 weeks and got alot of complaints about it..iam like no i don't have 18 bucks in my account i had the 150 from my friend, and i have a minimium to keep in the account to keep it active.

she leaves to talk to her manager,
'well sir, we can give it to you for $10 bucks"

look ladie i dont' want a newer version of the same chip, which if your testing methods are sound, which at the moment i highly doubt they are, they shoudn't be a problem with them.

So finally i get off the line with them, 20 some odd minutes later. Headache uggg

they are testing the chip now and i guess they will ship it soon.

don't buy from this company unless you like headaches

no future shop in my area

and i don't think best buy sells processors / mother boards / cases

they do sell video cards / sound cards / ram / hard drives and the such.

also you can get stuff cheaper online w/ shipping 9 times out of 10 than at such a store as best buy or frys.

imported_Grim_Reaper 06-16-2004 05:27 PM

future shop? never heard of it...

I bet outsourcing is a lot more common than we all think. Just think of how much money companies can save by getting slaves in India to answer a phone, rather than having white people in America answer a phone.

If I want a part, I got to memory express. They have everything.

I'm sure you can find some store that sells parts. That way you don't have to deal with all the BS.

Best online computer store. Nothing even comes close. I buy all my parts there even if they don't have the cheapest prices, but they are usually one of the cheapest.

Jotun 06-16-2004 07:31 PM

http://www.zipzoomfly.com isnt bad either.

physical stores suck ass they overprice, plus you gotta pay taxes. newegg owns

elitecloud 06-17-2004 09:15 AM

I called today and canceled it, worrying about if the chip will be DOA - 20 day warranty blows and there are no refunds so my only option for any $$ back was to cancel.

[quote:14839]Any order can only be cancelled for one of two reasons:

1. You contacted us and cancelled the order
2. We saw that there was a problem with the order and were not able to
get
in touch with you, and thus we had to cancel your order after trying to
contact you multiple times with no response.

We regret that we have lost this order. However; we would love to
retain
you as a customer. Please reconsider us in the future.
Unfortunately, once an order has been cancelled it cannot be
reinstated.
If you wish to reinstate the order, you will need to visit our website
and
place a new order. We regret any inconvenience this may have caused
you.

You need a gf/bf/whatever man. Seriously.

I'd rather buy from FRY's anyday. 30 day refund on most products, 15 days for others - no questions asked.

fujimi7su 06-17-2004 11:15 AM

dont ever buy any PC equipment from Best buy or future shop (theyre the same store) , 99% of the time its cheaper at newegg.. i can honestly say.. overall newegg has the best prices on the net happy:

fujimi7su 06-17-2004 11:18 AM

Also, buy AMD.. way cheaper.. and if u get a 24/25/26 unlocked or mobile u can run @ 3200... thats a 3200 chip for like $70 .. cant beat that, unless your that serious of an intel fan..

Even if you get a locked 2500+ just set your FSB to 200mhz 1:1 with your RAM and you still have a 3200+.

ShagNasty 06-17-2004 11:45 AM

I am glad I dont have to resort to online buying. I live in a city with many computer shops that beat online prices. ahh I love the USA.
