Just bought a new car
a 1986 oldsmobile cutlass supreme rock: with a 305 V8, 4 door. its in need of alot of TLC but i only got it for 350$. its a good car but needs many things done, some include the wiper motor, the cat. con. needs to be put back on, the drivers side door wont open, one rim is bent. its all just kinda minor stuff, nothing too serious. for those of you that dont know what it looks like here are some pics, not mine but one pretty much the exact same

Sweet ride, my dad has a 86 olds ninety eight that thing is a goddamned boat.
How many miles? Does the hood need paint? |
knowing these 80's square hunkers mostl ikely the problems your going to run into are
-miss firing engine any new CAt Converter you put on is going to clog right back up -gas ....well lets just say chug a lug. -auto transmissions on those I hear goes easily. Other then that congratso n the car and have fun with it. 305HP will be some fun shit to throw around. |
oh its a boat allright, it has one of thos egreat 80's inventions, the odomiter that only goes to 100k then drops back to 0. right now it reads 70k so i dont know if its 170 or 270. the pervious owner said the original owner said it had only rolled over once but who knows. I just need the cat. con. to pass emmisions to get the car certified. As for paint the whole car needs paint, it is beyond just faded. it has some surface rust spots but no actual holes thankfully. Im just going to drive it for the summer & into the fall, or untill i can get a new floor in my aries. I dont feel like driving a RWD v8 in the winter to school & back when im only working about 10 hours a week. So my plan is to fix it up & drive it for the summer, then sell it in the fall.

Why didnt you use the 350.00 to fix your other car instead of now having 2 cars with problems you cant afford to fix. oOo: |

I would be afraid of just blowing up some how. (I watched a net clip of a japnese Skyline Drift champ drive behind the wheel of a 1500 HP Skyline. They had him on mic, All you could hear from him on the straight away track was "in japenese translated to english " This car is to fast, this car is to fast" - The thing sounded a hell of alot like the GN which we just saw. It made me feel the same way. (Note The Skyline is a fine car in no way a ricer). Still that Grand Nationale wow !!!! I still fell it after watching again. |
Sargent-That car needs a new rear quarter a lot of sanding and a whole lot of bondo
|
the body is my last concernt right now, but all the rust is surface rust, no holes yet. right now i need to replace the rim on the front passenger side because its bent & the alliegnment got knocked out too. the wiper motor dosent work, one coolent line leaks. im more worried about crutial stuff for now.

seriously! I've never heard anyone else say that. Thats my dream car aswell. |
One of the guys I went to high school with had a black Grand National.
He ran down 2 old ladies while ripping around town in it. No joke. From then on we labeled him (and the car) "The Nan Flipper". biggrin: |
