Your web browser ??

Ok, finally diitched I.E. for Mozilla. Taking a lil' time to get used to it. Anyone know how to change the icon on a "Bookmarked" link?

Who else is using Mozilla Firefox?

Akuma 08-01-2004 08:55 PM

Don't give that bull about "pages load quicker" because 2 miliseconds isn't worth changing my comfort zone with IE.

fujimi7su 08-01-2004 09:10 PM

It has no pop-ups, has tabbed browsing, there are not many if any hijacking programs for it... IE's only advantage is the fact that it loads a lil faster, but that dont matter to me.. cause mozilla only takes about 2 seconds MAX

haha...
ooo an included popup blocker! Wow those are tough to get... :)
Not to mention iExplorer is fully integrated to windows which subtley makes things that much easier. Mozilla is like linux, but with no real usefullness. It is mainly used in rebellion of microsoft and for computer geeks to feel "cool" the_finger:

fujimi7su 08-01-2004 11:40 PM

it takes just as long to install firefox as it does to install a popup blocker

except being lazy there is no reason to use IE instead...
Firefox:
loads pages faster, has more customizable features, has no pop-ups, no spyware, no ads, no hijacks are made for it, has tabbed browsing, and comes with an HTML editor

IE:
loads slightly faster when started

stupid: nice argument man, really

MotoxXx 08-01-2004 11:55 PM

FireFox.. I didnt like the swap either but it has grown on me since then.. Some pages dont match up exactly right as far as tables and blacks and things but thats fine with me cause more the time I dont look at them..

If you like tabbed browsing, then thats about the only advantage I see. How many times has my browser been hijacked?... How often do I get ads and spyware? Never. Why the hell would a browser need an HTML editor when a freeware program is much easier... not to mention straight notepad. Pages loading faster is retarded, seriously shut up about that.
Maybe your girlfriend only dates you because you use firefox, girls love the rebelious type..

fujimi7su 08-02-2004 12:09 AM

so you dont want to use any of the features, doesnt make IE less shitty
it still is better, your yet to state a good reason not to use it...(besides that you think its for "cool people")

The reason I dont use it is because it is not integrated into windows. Microsoft is a clever company, they push as far as they can, in IE's case, they make it the easiest to use with windows. Then there is other less important things like my trusty yahoo toolbar that I couldnt use with firefox (to my knowledge).

fujimi7su 08-02-2004 12:33 AM

firefox has built in google toolbar

google>yahoo

opera's not bad, but really is just a more complicated firefox, mouse commands are handy for most, but my mx510 has enough buttons that i can zip around anyway :D

Machette 08-02-2004 12:52 AM

IE, it came with microsoft, I have firefox but I use it will browsing porn stops block ups.. eek:

Rott3n 08-02-2004 01:15 AM

Mozilla Firefox

anti 08-02-2004 01:22 AM

firefox loaded pages like shit for me. its jpeg handling is garbage - resized images look like they were originally done in paint, and the way it loads jpegs themselves gets annoying. firefox has a few features that may seperate it from the rest... but nothing to make up for the issues i had with it.

1080jibber 08-02-2004 01:25 AM

there is no way i would go back to IE, FoxFire is awsome.
the features for it rock

Adblock, ChromEdit, and Chatzilla

Poseidon 08-02-2004 03:54 AM

I liked it when i had it installed - but it had a majar disagreement with mcafee internet security

KTOG 08-02-2004 04:03 AM

ie

Nyck 08-02-2004 08:51 AM

Firefox....just for the built in pop up blocking and especially the tabbed browsing...i can wait ..0002 miliseconds longer for a page to load
