its also best to use a pic with edges that wont give too much contrast to the background, that bald white head is an example of a much tougher shape to cut out

give the whole thing a 1px black stroke
also, check what matte the setting is when you save it, i forget which one you want it to be but sometimes itll make the gif look bad

Use the non-cutout version. I would make the background something other then white though.

i use firefox.

.png can be transparent, but IE doesnt show them as such, only some other browsers do

try saving in PNG to clean up some white fuzz, also improves image quality.

You do know how much more people use IE than firefox?

i think that one with the white bg was the best one

you generally dont want to use a pic thats cut off at one of the ends you want to be "popping-out" (the top or sides, unless youre using a border)
