The greatest playoff series ever

The best playoff series i've ever seen in my life, has to be one of the best of all time. This series had everything between Vancouver and Calgary. Here's a 20 minute clip of game 7. The winner of this game moves on in the playoffs, the loser is out.

If you just want to watch the goals go to:
10.5 minutes
14 minutes
15 minutes

And watch from 17 minutes on. The ending is the best part. Probably the most tense/exciting game i've ever watched. The most ups and downs , the most emotions, this game had everything.

I'd recommend watching the whole thing, but I know most here aren't hockey fans and probably even the hockey fans won't watch it all, but what else do you have to do in the next 20 minutes? Sit here?

Cry about it. Steinbrenner is willing to put down the money he thinks nessacary to get the players he thinks the club needs. Red Sox could have had the Red Sox if they would put down just 1 million more dollars. A measley amount of money in the Big Leagues.

Plus, Yankees have been winning since before there was such a thing as a free agent. It's their Fate to win.

P.S. Im not some n00b that started liking the yankees because they started winning. Im a 4th generation yankee fan.

imported_Grim_Reaper 10-03-2004 01:13 PM

wel i root for the red sox cause im in mass. they are looking good this year, and as of right now they are killing baltimore rock:

Fate to win? Then why haven't they won in like 4 years oOo:

Yeah and that 1st generation guy probably liked the Yankees cause they won everything. rolleyes:

The Yankees are what's wrong with baseball...no salary cap means the highest bidder wins, and it's always been NY with the biggest $$$, and they get the best players. Too bad they can't win shit anymore. The Yankees dynsasty is over

Fireal 10-03-2004 02:06 PM

That's my point. When the yankees dont win in 4 years, its a big deal. It wouldnt be a big deal, if say Arizonia, Florida, Angels won a title in 4 years. In fact, nobody would care.

Pyro 10-03-2004 02:37 PM

The reason Calgary-Vancouver was so enjoyable was because they were both mediocre.

No body would want to see a blowout, and thats exactly what it would of been if they faced the leafs rock:

Yankees - Red Sox own too, especially when the faggot red sox lose...oh wait thats every fucking time!

9mm BeRetTa 10-03-2004 03:11 PM

The yankees are like the lakers. Both rosters had/have so many big name players getting paid so much money that they should never, ever, lose.

Arod, jeter, every yankee pitcher, bernie, giambi, sheffield...come on

shaq, kobe...enough said.

And the yankees got beat by who last year? The Marlins? cool:

Pyro 10-03-2004 03:15 PM

No body is perfect.

With your logic...The ENw York Rangers should of won the stanley cup every year. It takes creative skill to create a baseball team that works, regardless of money.

Jeter and Bernie were never "bought" anyway. They're career yankees.

Yep, the marlins played good. I got to go to see them play this year, before the season started. The Minor league team here is the Marlins triple A club (Albuquerque Isotopes) fun to watch. Their year is over though, so noone cares.

9mm BeRetTa 10-03-2004 03:29 PM

Yes, I realize that it takes talent, not money to keep a team running. I'm just saying that with the Yankees huge payroll and them seeming to always get everyone (example, Esteban Loaiza, Kevin Brown, Arod) that they should be almost a shoe in for the world series.

if the Yankees were better sports and didnt have such huge ego's (Arod, Cairo) they would win more.

Me being a Mets fan has nothing to do with my reasoning biggrin:

Fireal 10-03-2004 03:32 PM

Nobody has an ego on the yankees. The red sox, now theres a team of suck-asses. I saw the yankees twice this year in Arizona. And every groundball, every flyball. The yankees ran hard, given they had no chance of getting on base. They ran hard. Arod hit a gigantic homerun (465 feet i think it was) and he didnt have a "strut" like the gaybois do (Bonds, Ramirez, Ortiz etc.) he just ran around the bases.

Manny has hit a ground ball and not even try, he just did an aboutface to the dug out.

And Cairo? Lol, he doesnt have an ego. He knows he is the weakest link in our lineup. And loaiza was a fair trade. Contreras for Loaiza plus some cash.

I seem to see the only good series you ever talk about have to include Calgary, so why not make such an arrogant statement?

ninty 10-03-2004 06:00 PM

You're dense, aren't you?

Maplegyver 10-03-2004 06:05 PM

all the toronto players are fucking old.

Arkan 10-03-2004 06:21 PM

This is all bullshit. Who cares who spends the most $$$ on a team? You still have to go out there and win. Take my beloved N.Y. Rangers for example. They spend the most, yet can't win a fuckin' cup. They average 1 cup every 25 years or so, whereas the Yankees average 1 Championship every 4 years.

Ok, enough of that shit. Here are the best games from both my teams.

Rangers vs Devils (Game 6) '94 Conference finals

Yankees vs Boston (Game 7) '03 ALCS
