Sounds like you've been owned by your parents. ed:

Is it a message from Norton? I can't tell.

Pyro 01-10-2005 04:09 PM

Only my Dad uses this computer with me...and he is lucky to know how to browe the internet, yet alone make it impossible for me to download.

He only has a limited account too.

imported_Grim_Reaper 01-10-2005 04:09 PM

Internet Options > Security and change it to low or something. maybe your ocmputer has been hacked by fireal?! ed:

Pyro 01-10-2005 04:12 PM

9mm BeRetTa 01-10-2005 04:26 PM

Any other problems that you've noticed?

I had a virus that wouldn't let me download or install anything at first. Then the rest of my settings went all out of whack.

Paintballr 01-10-2005 04:34 PM

Your IE is jealous of how much better Firefox is and wont let you download it. So the way you fix it is hit your comp with a bat.

WidowMaker555 01-10-2005 04:37 PM

..k

Forte 01-10-2005 04:48 PM

owned by firefox.

Nyck 01-10-2005 04:55 PM

Ha....Jesus wants you off the internet forever

[DAS REICH] Blitz 01-10-2005 05:44 PM

Is it just firefox or all files in general, I would suggest disabling all your security stuff and try downloading.

Pyro 01-10-2005 05:47 PM

everything. I tried defaults, but i haven't tried making all security low.

Colonel 01-10-2005 06:16 PM

Did you download anything (like one of Nyck's movies) the same day you stopped being able to download? Have you done a spyware scan as well as virus scan?

I got this error message to appear by disabling my download in IE.

1) In IE goto tools, Internet options
2) Click the security tab
3) click custom level at the bottom
4) Scroll down to downloads and i currently have:

change the file downloads to enable
5) try to download again!
6) if all this fails go back to step 2 and lower the bar to low.

Hope this works.

did you not see the first reply to this topic?

Poseidon 01-11-2005 04:27 PM

yeah but i got the exact same error by reversing the action! unless you get the error by doing it another way.

Oh btw - try a system restore for a few days ago. This should probably work, if not just undo the restoration.

Pyro 01-11-2005 06:37 PM

IT WORKS NOW!!!

thanks for the help...even though it kinda just went back to normal on its own it seems.
