Xfire "homepage"
 

I noticed many of you had #groundforce1 as the IRC channel for your xfire profile, a couple of you put "www.alliedassault.com" as your homepage.

Well just wanted to let you guys know that I'll be grateful if you can update your profile and modify the link to http://www.groundforce1.com; and if you haven't already, put groundforce1.com as your homepage, do your part in helping us to expand our community! FYI your xfire profile get listed on the web too.

i think itd be nice to see some changes made in the irc channel.

I was under the impression that gf1 members would come to the channel if they need an admin for the cs server ... ? How can that be if im not there because some dildo has kicked me ...

the channel is suppose to be for gf1 members, but has ended up being for those that are hand picked by a panel of jackoffs ( some of which are not even active gf1.com members ). the channel should be for ALL gf1 members , liked or disliked.

Something i find pretty damn funny is once those who have been kicked/banned post here they are immediately removed from the ban list.

bs: you might be running more people off by putting the irc channel in the profile that inviting them to join the community.

i guess they got bored and needed something to do ... granted i rarely say more than 2 words in the channel to begin with.

i do think it is 4th gradish the way some people are treated when they visit. pyro, swill, and others. ive seen members join for a few days and not return because of the gay that goes on in there. Acideyes is another that comes to mind.

Funny thing is when the channel was started the rhetoric that was spouted was something to the effect of:

"this won't be another fucking around channel channel we're taking this channel seriously and leaving the messing about in the bengals channel".


That lasted what all of 4 weeks? Then again when the conversation mainly consists of retarded buzzwords from here that for some unknown reason the kids in there laugh at (read: asskissing) we're probably better off not being in it.

Me and Tony removed a lot of irrelevant ops, kept the ones that have experience/don't kick for shits and giggles a lot. I'm sure the owner of the IRC channel, Tripper, will agree with our new list.

I have no problem with being constantly kicked, as long as there is a legitimate reason..Which is isn't 99.9 precent of the time, but bleh, what are oyu gonna do...

For the record though, that kick was nothing personal against you. I dunno why Bian did it too be honest, but he kicked everyone in the channel as well straight after you with the same kick message. Regardless, he's not an op anymore.

Gerv, no-one ever does anything to you, dunno why you feel the need to go out of your way to try and make us look bad when you said yourself that you don't even need the channel and you dislike the people in there.

Yeah, that was my original intention. I started the channel like that, but everyone from the bengals channel just came on over - I'm sure you never even noticed the big fuss I made over trying to get people to act civil. I got into a bunch of heated arguments with people who I consider 'Net' friends.

It was a hard thing to do, but I gave it my best shot until It just became overwhelming and I just let it flow. You giving me a real hard time about it on the forums didn't help either.

One thing that gets me about you and Judas is how you never came to me in the first place. Until you posted with a negative reaction when the channel was first formed, and until Judas posted just now, I had no clue you felt that way. I probably would have tried to change some things If you had asked me about them, because I did have alot of respect for you guys....and I still do despite all this.

Pyro - I dunno why you think we'd treat you like we do everyone else, when in the channel you act ALOT worse than you do on the forums, which is bad enough. I really don't like hearing non-stop about what I personally am doing wrong with the channel and how you're right and I am just too blind to see it, or something along those lines. So, you gotta figure that I'm gonna kick you if you come in to delibrately start arguments.

Even after I kick you, I always remove you from the ban list within 10 - 20 mins.

Whats my problem? Lets see how about me being constantly shit talked behind my back by you and others in irc? Believe me ive been well informed on the subject, that may or may not come as a suprise to you. From what ive heard and seen the subject of "me" gets brought up at least a couple of times a week. If it makes you kids feel better about yourselves go ahead and shit talk, not like its doing me any damage, just find it cute that noone does it to my face.

Its not a matter of disliking people in the channel, its more a matter of the channel goes through lengthy periods where it would be mistaken as a chat room for the mentally retarded. Its fine and dandy to fuck around occasionally but when its seemingly like that constantly it loses all point of even going. Ive not been in that channel in around 6 months, can't say i miss it. I had reservations about rejoining it when everyone switched from #movv, my reservations were proved right...again.

Id happily join again tomorrow if everyone grew a set of balls and acted their fucking age, doubt thats gonna happen anytime soon.

So that's my reason for not kicking anyone that is out of line or is acting like we did in "bengals." Because really, they'll complain no matter what that it's just the way they are or I'm being too "serious" by kicking them.

Anyways, the ops plan on formulating some rules maybe if people really care that much. It should really constitute another thread...maybe a sticky?

Did you ever think that these "spies" could be flat out bullshitting you? Because really, the stuff I see said about Gerv comes off as being a total joke or sarcasm and not solid anger.
