Movie Night in Canada?

Movie Night in Canada?

Watched a Star Wars movie on CBC last night and it was funny as hell. Thye covered it like Hockey Night in Canada. I was waiting for Coaches Corner but they didnt have that

ninty 01-30-2005 10:25 AM

Yah they've been doing it since September to replace Hockey Night in Canada obviously.

I wish I had CBC cry:

Zoner 01-31-2005 08:07 AM

At least they play some good flicks in place of HNIC.

Saturday nights suck now, though. cry:

Pyro 01-31-2005 08:47 AM

just gives us more reason to leave the house like everyone should be doing on a saturday night.

Zoner 01-31-2005 08:53 AM

I usually DID leave the house on a saturday night...to go to a pub, watch the game, and get drunk off my ass. Whether I stayed home or went out, Saturday nights were better with hockey.

For me anyway...I realize some of you would rather watch your toenails grow than watch hockey. That's cool...whatever gets yer pecker hard.

It seems everything gets fuck over when I finally reach a good age. I turn 19 on June 18 last year...and on June 1st had the smoking ban so I couldn't experience smoking in a bar. Now the first hockey season after im 19, I can't go to the pub and watch the game because there is no games.

Zoner 01-31-2005 08:57 AM

Sad, innit?

I buy a 50" HDTV and *boom*...no hockey. Fuckers.

I feel your pain, man.

/me hugs Pyro and smooothes his hair.

We have a smoking ban down here too - Now instead of smelling smoke in bars/clubs you can smell spew and B.O and shit....It was better when it smelt like cigarettes....

I don't like the smell of a LOT of cig smoke, it makes me want to get fresh air....but i know what you mean with the puke part....too much of that shit goes on and it ranks.

imported_Grim_Reaper 01-31-2005 04:03 PM

what is CBC? maybe i have it... comcast is mostly just local channels with movie channels that are expensive

Pyro 01-31-2005 04:04 PM

canadian broadcasting company

imported_Grim_Reaper 01-31-2005 04:06 PM

yea.. i dont have that... maybe its like HBO and you need to pay for it or one of the channels in the 400s or something

ninty 01-31-2005 04:19 PM

the only reason those in michigan get CBC is because of their proximity to canada.

CBC newsworld is avaliable on satellite in the US, but I think thats all.

Why would they want canadian channels? They have enough of their own. The only reason we get US TV is because if we didn't we'd only have 15 channels.

That made me laugh. +1

Sgt>Stackem 01-31-2005 05:57 PM

if they didnt give us CBC in the Detroit area there would be a riot. We watch it mostly for hockey but they also run some good late night movies. Before cable CBC was one of the stations you could get with an antenna

TonyMontana 01-31-2005 05:59 PM

TV is such shit, I only watch about 10 channels, and 4 of them are sports channels

Maplegyver 01-31-2005 06:01 PM

^ i only watch like 10 channels max.

discovery history oln cbc ctv a few sport ones and some random shit channels

ninty 01-31-2005 06:05 PM

Yah, I agree with that.

I watch really only CBC, Global, TSN, TLC, Sportnset, The Score, Discovery Channel, History Television, and NASA TV via the internet.

One Show that i've started to watch is "The Hour" on CBC with George Stromobopolousjsiugdslkj from Muchmusic. Its actually a pretty good show.

Im just pissed off I techically PAY for like Fox NBC CBS and so on...and I get the global, CH and CTV feeds of it even when I watch that channel.

This only bothers me one night of the year.....The Super Bowl...because now I can't watch the expensive commercials.

Duke_of_Ray 01-31-2005 09:49 PM

I could tape em for ya and send ya the tape.
