I watched the clip and it looks like the kid in blue tried to run up on the cop, but the cop turned and then the kid attempted a 'thug lunge' so the cop whipped him. Was a fare move I suppose.

I used to work for USA Today and we would have to collect up about 500 of our newspaper racks every year so these ass hats wouldn't put bombs or some shit in them. Major pain in the ass. The city gives them space to protest, but inevitably, they look for a confrontation by crossing barricades. The funniest thing I saw was one year they tried to form a human chain to block a motorcade and the motorcycle cops ran right through them. You wouldn't think a motercycle from a dead stop in 5 feet could send someone airborne, but you'd be wrong.

It was a bit brutal, but once you cross a police line and get involved in a scuffle with a bunch of riot police, wtf do you expect. The bottom line is that every year these assholes come to town looking for trouble. They think that being arrested is a badge of honor and many of them try unsuccessfully to incite police. I don't feel sorry for the ones that succeed in pissing off the cops. That being said, I can't imagine that the cop was not disciplined. He obviously got a little out of control. Bet that guy won't step to a cop again. spank:

First of all my dad was a Provost Marshall (Military Police Chief) while in the army, so maybe I'm a bit biased. I think if you look at the crap that the average cop has to put up with on a daily basis, I'm willing to give them a pass on most things. So, if a bunch of cops are being pushed around and confronted by a bunch of trouble makers and a cop has to crack some dumb shit's skull to get the message across, so be it. That's not to say that there aren't some bad apples, but I'm not willing to call them pigs or being some anti-establishment little punk.
