Calling All Metalheads!
I'm trying to burn an MP3 CD of some sick nice headbanging goodness. I like the jack-boot and clean riffs that most good metal bands offer, but I really don't care much from the growling and screaming (no emo or screamo plz). I've got room for about 50 tracks, so fire away. I've included stuff by In Flames, Airut, God Forbid, Maiden, Lamb of God, Pantera, Megadeth, and Dimmu Borgir. I mean really, wax this topic.
rock: I'll be much obliged, motherfuckers. |
I'm just new into Metal, but here's some of the stuff I've been enjoying:
Testament, Anthrax, Machine Head, GWAR, Exodus.... |

HA, once again Godsmack amazes me...
His list of bands he obviously got off the 'shirt wall' in Hot Topic. happy: Thanks for the laugh Rodsmack. beer: |
Iron Maiden: Anything. You can't go wrong.
Mastodon: Look for "Blood & Thunder" or "Megalodon" Shadows Fall - Act Of Contrition Machine Head - Imperium (so many changes in that song...great stuff) Any of the bands in the 80s glory days: - Testament - Anthrax - Megadeth - Venom - Slayer - Suicidal Tendencies - D.R.I. - Metallica - Kreator - Exodus - Metal Church - Judas Priest - Overkill (search for "Elimination". Awesome.) - Motorhead Check out some of Bruce Dickinson's solo stuff too, especially tunes from "Chemical Wedding" and "Accident of Birth". Let us know what you come up with. |

I wouldn't classify Radiohead as alternative...but id say they're closer to that than metal
anything after the bends i know isn't alternative |

Seriously download Art of Balance, and Stepping outside the circle by Shadows Fall. Two best songs by them IMO.

I don't really care. Undeceived was okay at best. The ones after that were just horrible. I've heard better metal from stepping on my cat's tail. |
i believe a few (and proably only a few) others may relate to this. was in magazine store today .....happened to see judas priest on the cover of a mag. picked it up. it was revolver magazine. never heard of it. opened it and realized: baby, you are getting old. didn't recognize one band until i got to the article called "Great 80s Metal Bands". the clerk is still wondering who the idiot at the mag rack was yelling " fuck that, they rock/rocked ". i didn't buy the magazine but i did pick up generation kill instead (the audio tape).

I get that too because I don't know anything about modern American pop-metal. Maybe you should expand your metal searches... There are some kick ass modern thrash bands that would make Anthrax/Slayer/Kreator/etc proud. |
