There are 5 billion people on this earth. Average weight is what. . .200lbs?

The Earth weighs 1 Septillion lbs. 100000000000 vs 100000000000000000000000000

Im guessing the Earth wins.

These nutjobs would know it wouldnt work if they put down the patcholli oil and weed-pipe every now and then. . .

Jimmy Paterson 03-15-2005 04:20 PM

if everyone on the planet jumped at the same time and it did move out of orbit, it would be because of china.

ninty 03-15-2005 04:26 PM

There are 6.5 billion. And there's no way average weight is 200lbs. More like 160-170.

And even if it did work, it would be incredibly stupid. I don't think people jumping to shft the planets orbit is an exact science. What happens if it goes too far off orbit? I tell ya what, it's already cold enough in Canada.

They said they need 600 million people in the western hemisphere to jump at the same time and they've got 78 million signed up. Guess they'd better get to work.

Maplegyver 03-15-2005 05:08 PM

gerv can hack the orbit

Unknown_Sniper 03-15-2005 05:13 PM

that about as smart as saying that when all those people jump lifting all that weight off the planet that they would allow the planet to float away from the sun because it is lighter. It would take something the size of the moon to move the earth. And even then it would just get destroyed and break apart and shit.

elstatec 03-15-2005 05:16 PM

if gerv can get the powerful-ist ati card we could push the earth graphics to a new fps

If Star Jones can't do it alone, then I don't think a million skinnk asains will.

ok 1st Jupiter moves the sun in an orbital pattern with a radius of about 3 meters
2nd everyone on the same side of the earth, without any on the other side jumping, would have to jump to have any chance of effecting the earths orbit and chances are thats not going to happen.

It's not just jupiter that puts the sun into its own orbit, it's all the mass of the solar system with exception to the sun. However since the sun takes up 98% of the mass of the solar system, its not going to move much.

So, what does that have to do with changing the orbit of the earth by having people jump on it?

And this guy says its possible:
