first speeding ticket

just got it today wee iam so fuggin excited

80mph in a 60

and i was the head of a pack that was just keeping up with traffic, and i get nailed weeeeee

i wonder how much it will be, i've been pulling 16 hour shifts at work to get me a new radio, 3 days before my paycheck comes i get a ticket

it almost makes me want to cry wallbash: wallbash: wallbash:

is it true if you pay if off fast or somthing they can switch it to a non-moving sitation so your insurance won't go up?

Machette 03-21-2005 01:37 PM

Oh snap, you rebel.....you should be shot. annoy: ban:

Milla 03-21-2005 01:38 PM

20mph over posted speed limit = Wreckless in VA...dont know about your state, but if your underage and got a wreckless speeding ticket, goodbye license until your 21, and expect a huge fine and community service. God damn VA

Sgt>Stackem 03-21-2005 01:47 PM

fight it, every time, every ticket

Milla 03-21-2005 01:48 PM

[quote="Sgt>Stackem":2001e]fight it, every time, every ticket[/quote:2001e]

You cant really fight a 20MPH over ticket. Even if you were on I-95 in the left lane, the judge isnt going to give a fuck, especially if hes under 19.

Airborne Butters 03-21-2005 01:59 PM

you could try hiring one of those lawyers, but I think it's cheaper in the short run. My friends dad hired one of those and got out of the ticket by scheduling, rescheduling the court date till eventually the cop didn't show. If the cop does show, they do this bs shit like 'when was the last time your radar gun was calibrated' etc...

Coleman 03-21-2005 02:04 PM

some stupid cop pulled me over before for going through a yellow light. stupid: He told me it was red and I dangerously crossed into the intersection which was total BS. I tried to get in touch with the authorities to dispute it, but I just wound up paying the $108 ticket. Somehow the cop filed it as a non-moving violation...so no insurance points.

tomxtr 03-21-2005 02:27 PM

The officer's name is on the ticket, or should be. Call the station and ask to speak with the officer. They'll probably say that he is not available or something. Then ask someone there, what days he works or something like that. Then, try to schedule a court date for a day when he is off. You have to be creative when scheduling an excuse, because they don't just give you whatever day you want. Say something like I'm away at school and this is the one day that I'm available.

If you don't fight it, your insurance is guaranteed to skyrocket for like 3 to 5 years. More often than not, even if the cop shows, they'll reduce the speed and say you were doing 12 over or something to lower your fine. Anyway, good luck.

bukdez 03-21-2005 02:59 PM

speeding only slows you down... happy:...

Johnj 03-21-2005 02:59 PM

The last speeding ticket I got was for 64 in a 45. He claimed to have clocked me at 70, but wrote it for 64 because I had my seat belt on and I kept going to a safe place to pull over, instead of the entrance ramp/overpass we were on. I'd just got on the freeway and couldn't have been doing 70 that quick.

I did that once and the cop absolutely took my head off because I didn't stop immediately. He pulled behind me when there was no shoulder and I knew there was shoulder shortly up ahead, so I waited about 1/4 mile. When he got up to my window he laid into me and said if I had kept going it would've been resisting arrest. What a dick.

TGB! 03-21-2005 03:13 PM

Dont pay it.

I had a total of 400 dollars worth of tickets - eventually paid it. . .they didnt bother processing the check after a warrant was served. . .

Tickets are meaningles. . .

Akuma 03-21-2005 03:13 PM

Thank god there are no speed pigs in Rochester. I've never been pulled over or even seen any guys with radars.

Ferich 03-21-2005 03:15 PM

If you know anything about the majority of pennsylvania roads where there's amish buggies...or really most of them in general, they're shit.

So once I hit the interstates or another state I'm usually going 4235794835794837594835045794857934875948357987mph.

My worst and only third I was going 93mph or something on I-76 E towards Philly from Lancaster one night. I own a 1998 9000.

6z-8-z=4(z+10) 03-21-2005 03:39 PM

If it's a saab 9000, mark you up 2 extra cool points on my cool chart - Those cars are pwnage.

6z-8-z=4(z+10) 03-21-2005 04:01 PM

yeah dude, saabs really were the first cars to use turbochargers and FWD, which makes them cool.
and the first to put the engines in sideways. Ive always like anything that comes out of SAAB. A good deal of luxury/performance and styling make them an awesome car to me

I want a Sabb so bad. My friend has a plain old 4cyl 900S and he got it up to 130 in a pretty small flat area. Ive been pulled over once for speeding. 80 in a 65. cop told me slow down a little. Like you I had just got to the front of a pakc of cars(10ish) and he pulled onto the road right after pulling somone else over. I had slowed to 65 passing him and he caught me about a mile later when I was at 80 so me must have hauled ass. Ive been followed by cops twice until I reached a good part of the road and then THEY flipped on their blues. Each of those times was some sort of light warning. Apparently my rear taillights are illegal. Never got a ticket though and Im glad. In NH if youre under 21 and get a ticket you loose ytour liscense for about a month. +10 if the cop does anything would be a smal lfine of about $20, +20 would be a fine, + 30 cop will get pissed and probably place you under arrest, double the limit is wreckless driving and the ylock you up for at least a night and then major fines.

fight em, if the cop doesnt show its thrown out

Miscguy 03-21-2005 04:27 PM

I've only been pulled over once. For suspicion of drunk driving, (2 beers spread out over 2 hours, with an hour gap before driving, plus food) I had my shit ready when he got to the window and he let me go 3 minutes later. He said i tapped the yellow a couple of times and he just wanted to be sure, i told him it pulled to the left slightly, and that it was a new car to me (hadnt received my registration yet) To those who say "omfg he drank and drove!!" i was plenty sober and the only reason i hit the yellow line was because i was trying to figure out if it was in fact a cop behind me.

The only ticket i received was for an acciedent. It was a 560+ dollar ticket for reckless driving issued by "investigator", then the cop who was actually on the scene overwrote it to 103 for "driving to fast for the conditions". It was rainy.

Arkan 03-21-2005 04:32 PM

Well, lets see if i can even add this up. I've gotten pulled over at least 9 times that i can remember ( running stop signs, illegal U-turn, Ran red light, No signaling, Inspection past due, Headlamp out, and weaving oOo: ) Out of all those pull overs, i've only gotten one ticket!! The red light one i couldn't talk my way out of. I passed a cop yesterday doing 70mph in a 55. Hey, he was only going 65 in the right lane so i just slid right past. I figured that was pushing it a bit but he just got off at the next exit.

Remember kiddies, 90% of the time you write your own tickets. Treat him like a gentleman and pull over in a safe area (make sure you tell him that too. ie: "I pulled over here to make it safe for you....didn't want you standing in traffic") and chances are he'll only give you a verbal. Well, at least thats what works for me.

Nyck 03-21-2005 04:44 PM

Never for me

some whore pulled me over for doing 50 in a 45 on an empty street at 11 @ night after getting off work. Then when I fought it, the bitch showed up on her day off to court.

Then like coleman I got pulled over, again after work for passing through a yellow light. This cocksucker pulled me over in the fucking drive thru at wendys...Im fucking sitting there wondering hmm do I want the chicken sandwich or a hamburger and W00T WOOT red and blues on my ass...Im like WTF!

My other ticket was for overdue license tags... sleeping:

My wife got a ticket for failing to stop for a school bus 4 lanes over...then somehow it didnt get paid(even though she sent in a money order for it) and when she went to get her license renewed last april...oh your licesnse has been suspended for 6 months and the 100 fine went to 350 dollars...

fuck that shit.

5 over will cost you prob 160
20 over 180 oOo:

Pyro 03-21-2005 04:44 PM

I got caught doing 62 in a 40 (kp/h) and got warning...never been pulled over other than that.

Dude trust me, that would of been throw out in court if he arrestd you and you could of had a huge law suit and made tons of money. hehe

And here in Fredericksburg, they have a division...set up to catch speeders. Good game again VA

Himmler: Your so awesome, i dont know how the fuck you got to 105, your suppose to shut down the second the other guy starts pulling on you. Thats just so you dont fucking kill yourself or someone else.

He was just trying to scare the shit out of me. He was mad that I was driving a fast car and not speeding, and that I was in a college town and not drunk... seriously. It was a total joke. He ended up giving me a ticket for making an incomplete stop at a flashing red light. hake:

KTOG 03-21-2005 10:12 PM

I've been pulled over twice in my life. Once for flashing my high beams, the seoncd for pulling out into a center lane then break checking the cop cuz I didn't know it was one. Got out of both because i think the cops just got hard ons pulling me over for nothing.

Tripper 03-21-2005 11:21 PM

I've been pulled over once, driving my dad's car on my leaners license, when I was about 16, I was with two of my friends, it was like 5am on a saturday morning - So I just made up this story about how I had to go pick up my little brother from downtown....They let me off!

(Learners license = Not allowed to drive without a full license driver in the front seat next to you)

Since then I've been ticketed for sitting in the back of my mates car without a seatbelt, 120 fucking dollars....Which then became $280, when the cop ticketed my mate who was driving for only having a restricted license, with 2 passengers...(Because it was my fault in the first place, I agreed to pay a third of the ticket)....

I've also been caught by a speed camera twice, once for 80$ and the second time, just a couple of weeks ago for $120....

(Half the cost for USD)
