Theres A Mouse in The House...

Alright, so recently, my wireless mouse[/url:1b247] has been behaving kinda funny..I set the mouse sensitivity in Cod from its default all the way to around 80%, and I can aim a whole lot faster and better, but it seems the mouse cant handle it. My iron sights are always centimeters away, and one little twitch sends the cursor clear pasts the head, and ends up with me getting shot..
..plus, unlike what it advertises, the battery life continues to crap out every day, so I'm always having to recharge the batteries over-night (They're Nickel-Cadiums, though, not Alkaline).

I wanna get a new one under $40, preferrably nothing wireless, and am just wondering what my best buddies use for their computers. Screens, too.

Doctor Duffy 03-30-2005 02:44 PM

To tell you the truth, the mouse I'm using isnt reall all that bad. I mean, its a whole lot better than what you get with your computer. I just need more accuracy...I'm finding rifling to be a lot funner than spraying.
-Just, come on, dont recommend me mice, I know whats good and whats not, but just tell me what you have, and if you can, post a sc33n0r.

Sgt>Stackem 03-30-2005 03:04 PM

I love my wireless mouse/keyboard. They work great!!!

Mr_Gl@ss 03-30-2005 03:18 PM

using the logitech MX 310 (I'm a lefty.... all you damn righties and your spiffy mice) currently and like it. I use the logitech software to set the buttons to keystrokes then tweak my games to those keys.

Have the same mouse...Wireless mice suck for gaming they suck more cock than buckweed in a public bathroom.

The only wireless mouse worthy of gaming is the mx1000 by logitech

hell ya, I just bought it the other day, got a discount on it and got it for 36 bucks, best mouse i have ever used. Laser > optical

Sgt>Stackem 03-30-2005 04:35 PM

I have mx700 and it works perfectly

Doctor Duffy 03-30-2005 04:46 PM

I'd only get another wireless mouse if its battery-less (..it's reciever connects to a plug in the wall, and that's what powers it, if you put the mouse itself in to recharge every now and then).

Yeah, I was checking those out. They're ugly, but I'd love that precision. $60 bucks though.. ed:

I'll consider it. My dad'll think Im nuts for buying a $60 dollar mouse...I'll try to eBay one, maybe.

Im you're average CoD player, sometimes one of the top scorers, sometimes not, as I usually stock up on a Thompson or PPSH and just run around the map, spraying at everything that moves. I dont need anything nuts, I truthfully dont even know what dpi means, or any of this techie-speak, just that its pretty obvious the higher the number goes, the more precision you'll get, and..the more kills. But god..$60... ed:

Akuma 03-31-2005 06:00 AM

Razor mice blow. They are cheapest pieces of shit I've ever owned.

I've broken 4 Diamondbacks from general use in less than 3 months. Not to mention how ungodly uncomfortable they are. Unless you have a baby hand, you'll find it too skinny/small.

Save your money and get an MX500 or MX510. MX518 should be out soon, it also has 1600dpi like the Diamondback.

Poseidon 03-31-2005 08:16 AM

get this:

my friend just got the 518 from logitech.com and he is loving it....

no lag in games whatso ever....though the mx 510 is extremely good too but i hear its not 100 percent for gaming so thats why they made the 518 for just games... and all that fun stuff rock:

yada yada yada

Doctor Duffy 03-31-2005 12:22 PM

Yeah, I'm gonna go walk over to CompUSA today and check them out. I was looking at the Razers, and yeah, they do seem pretty small (judging from pics), and I have my dads hands, which are just giant claws.

518 sounds good..10 bucks less than Diamondback, more buttons, and more comfort, plus, it too has 1,600dpi which, although I have no clue what it means, sounds awesome.

Whatada 03-31-2005 12:24 PM

1,600 Drags per inch

Doctor Duffy 03-31-2005 12:28 PM

Drags? Truthfully, does dpi REALLY matter for gaming? I mean, sure, for Photoshop, where you need absolute precision it does, but for shooters, its not hard to nail a head...I just want to do it faster.

Whatada 03-31-2005 12:31 PM

1,600 mouse drags per inch moved in-game

Tripper 03-31-2005 12:44 PM

Wireless is the best...I've got a wireless optical mouse, and I haven't had a problem with it ever....It's perfect.

Doctor Duffy 03-31-2005 12:55 PM

...You have a Microsoft one? What I have is the Microsoft Wireless Optical 2.0, with the sideways scroll-wheel (which Im still waiting to get used in games..I'd use it as the reload button). It's not a bad mass. Its just it lags at anything below 50% battery power, and can't handle how I aim...why am I typing this, anyways? Christ..

Tripper 03-31-2005 12:57 PM

I have a Dell. The scroller also clicks, so it works as a third mouse button as well....Which came in handy in games like BIA.

Mine clicks too, but games dont seem to recognize it...what'd you use it for, anyways?

Crazy Canadian 03-31-2005 01:28 PM

Basicly this is the same one i have execpt mine is white and without the bubbled logo thing, it works verywell well.

Iron sights in BIA....Right click was for orders...

Doctor Duffy 03-31-2005 04:51 PM

Oh..I just got back from walking from CompUSA..saw a whole bunch of mice. The MX1000 fit my hand perfectly, I didnt see any Razers, so I guess they're not sold through major retailers. The MX510 was the second most comfortable one, and had a whole bunch of buttons, though a lot were i nwierd positions.
310 was also pretty nice, same dpi..I'll decide for myself, I guess.

Let this thread die..
