Roman Catholic

mr.miyagi 04-10-2005 06:15 PM

I was born a Roman Catholic but.......

Does anyone know the religion that believes in a common good, that believes that everyone is equal and kind or has the potential to be, its not any of the main religions, i forget its name

Its like a religion for people who aren't overly religious, where their is no god, just a belief that people want to do the right thing and not fight over things........ sounds very hippy but its a good perspective on things i think.

Either way, I don't believe in organised religion so i'm none of those.

I think religion is an excuse for the lack of answers humans have.

Christian, havent been to church in about 4 years, and starting to not even think about the stuff.

TiberiusAD 04-10-2005 06:15 PM

.Spirituality is internal, therefore I need no church.
.Everything I seek is within my own being, therefore I need no guide.
.I need not know what is right or wrong, I only need to understand the reason for the choice.

Voted Buddhist, but it's all about zen.

he asked what we believe, that's what i believe... you don't have to agree...
i don't seek proof or disproof of creation or creators... i don't see any one disproving the big bang theory or evolution either... essentially if you ask me, i don't understand why the major religions are any more believable than ancient mythologies or folklore tales...

i choose to believe in myself...

ninty 04-10-2005 06:44 PM

Born into Roman Catholic. Went to Roman Catholic schools for 13 years of my life taking a religion class every year.

Now i'm agnostic.

well now you know another, and headup is one too :)

I was born Roman Cathlic, but i guess i believe that there is a different path to God than the usual Christian stuff, for example, i believe that faith alone will get you into heaven, and that God isnt an angry god (puritans), but a loving God.

i think that what i believe is called Agnostic but im not sure..when i took that religion survey it said Satanistic, and originally my people were Pagans.

04-10-2005 06:51 PM

Yeah im definantly Agnostic...

i agree with so many points, like that right now we cannot approve or disprove the existance of God, and i cannot define good and evil to exact point, everyone has a different view of good and evil.

I'm a Christian. My advice to those that feel they are drifting away from their faith. Read your Bible. I find it interesting that those of us who love military history read lots of books and study about WWII, etc.. Those of us that love golf read alot of golf magazines and even go out to the driving range and practice hard to try and improve. But very few of us that say we love the church and love God actually take the time to study our Bibles to improve our understanding of Him. If you don't feel that you have time for alot of study then just read the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John). It won't take but a few minutes. Or just pick one of them and read it. Or if you're in real hurry, just read the Sermon on the Mount. That should give you alot to think about for awhile.

Pyro 04-11-2005 07:46 AM

I guess im christian...never really had to deal with organised religion because my mother is roman catholic and my father is presbyterian (which in my opinion is better).

Im probably agnostic...as I don't believe or not believe in god, but i really couldn't give a shit if it exists or not.

Bean 2 04-11-2005 08:03 AM

Hmm I consider myself a nominal Buddhist, which makes me naturally agnostic also. Raised Roman Catholic, and went to many Catholic schools.

I agree. I try to read my bible everyday, it makes me feel good. I enjoy doing it, I don't feel right if I do not. I believe God is a loving God, and nobody is perfect. We just have to accept this and God, and we will be alright. freak:

There is no Jewish ethnicity. Theres no shared common ancestry....

You can be Jewish by Matriarchal descent, that's when you're born into a Jewish parent (can be either or both, generally the mother is considered the most important).....That's the only way I'm Jewish. My mother was a dedicated Jew, her family were all unorthodox jews, she never officially converted but she doesn't practise either....

I've been to synagogues when I was alot younger, but I've never practised. I consider myself an atheist, as opposed to a Baptist like my father, or a Jew like my mother was. But I find it easier to have faith in Judaism than Christianity, simply because I find the idea of Jesus being the son of god, unfeasable. (he told me himself its bullshit).

So, I guess you could say I'm confused....But I personally think religion is largely bullshit, and it's further ruined by those who act like dipshits in the name of it.
