lol wtf?
BIOS? HDD? reconfigure how? |
press f8 at startup and change the priority of startup devices to
#1Cd Rom #2 Hard Drive |
i do that but theres no "priority" shit.
I see, Normal, bootlog, safe mode, and step by step confirmation. I did step by step, it just says bunch of stuff followed by "{Y/N}" I am still lost. can you explian further how to change priorities |

what kind of motherboard is it?
|
motherboard? oOo:
I use windows ME |
yeah that doesn't help. the kind of bios your running is determined by what motherboard you ahve. we have no idea what your bios looks like.
|
what are bios, how do i find out?

hit the delete ey upon restart, your BIOS will look something like this. look for what I pointed to on the pic. change the first boot device to A:/ or whatever it wanted to boot from |
1. What kind of computer do you have?
2. If its not a custom one, did it come with any CDs? If so, find the CD that says "Factory Restore" or "Reinstallation CD" and put it in the cd drive and it may have intructions for you to follow. If not, reboot and hit delete before it begins loading windows to bring up the bios menu and go to the option that says "boot options" or something similar and set CD-drive as the first boot. Then save and quit and it'll load the cd, then follow the intructions that it gives you. If its a custom build, find the cd that came with your hard drive and the windows disc and follow set the cd-drive as the first boot. |
yea it came with conpaq recovery CD, I did that "restart press delete thing," i did 1.cd-rom 2. harddrive 3. floppy
restarted put recovery disk in still started to load some shit then stopped, with the A:/ |
well put the boot data on a floppy, I know you can do something like that, then boot from A:/
|
Here read this Newt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
didn't work scorp
|
can't you just type in your cd drive letter in prompt ?
|
no hablo...
|
So atm it wont do it if u follow the compaq link or any of the other ways you do it. It seems either the disc is fucked or ur doin something wrong.
Is there no warrenty etc so u can take it in and get it sorted? |
warrenty ended like 4 years ago oOo:
