Free "Never-made-it" sig for who-ever wants it
 

Lots of times I'll start on a sig, but never finish...typically I delete the stuff, but lately I've been saving 'em. Free for anyone who wants to play with it:

I'm working on getting some files availible for anyone who may need them. Things like PSDs, .abr's & other goodies. But I need a tester...

That dl works, its a nice sig. I am impatient when it comes to more than 5 layers :D i never spend more then 5 minutes on a sig.

But anyway you know the rules, can you resize your sig TiberiusAD, Maximum Height: 150 px, yours 220 px.

I'm off by 70 pixals. If you intend on enforcing this rule, lets be even across the board with it shall we?

On a related note, I'd like to partition for an extention in sig size rules. Many of us, yourself included like to use multiple images or text below our sigs. Any of which would naturally violate the same principle rule of hight size.

I don't think that an extension up to 250 in hight and 500 in lenth would be unreasonable. This could allow for a quote below a sig...as currently being used, or multiple images, like I had before this one.

They are the rules and they have been like so for a while. People have stuck to them before and you are not special. I am not going to get anal to the last pixel here but you are out by a margin so change it or loose it.

And actually my sig is 130 pixels which leaves more than enough space for some little text underneath.

I'm not singling these guys out, I just picked a thread and looked for rule violations larger than mine. I don't have a problem with any of these guy's sigs. Apparently niether has anyone else. So tell me why you are bitching about my 70 pixaelis.

this is the sig section. i cant control what or how much text beneath every posters sigs. i can ask the people who post here to keep within the rules. tonys sig etc is 160 pixels so 10 over give some, take some. But yours is 70 pixels over which is about 50% more.

other people have been asked before and changed. you are no special. speak with zone if you have a problem, I didnt make the rules im just enforcing them.

The left is a 4 inch block of purple. The right, my sig.

The block of purple is a little bit shorter than Tony's sig area from line to line. DO YOU SEE THE DIFFERENCE.

just to be devils advocate here, just as a guess the dimension set is for area based on size and average res (72x72) of a sig, and also what looks best. U can check with zone or bs about, it could be a loop hole. in which case tib would be plenty within the limits. One you should really speak to if your bugged by tibs 70pixel over height is newt 638x995 thats MUCH more than the regulations by any standards. Also, for those that have quotes or what not at the bottom are plenty within the limits since sigs are based upon characters which for this forum i think is 255 so i agree with tib on the fact that if you enforce enforce down to the pixel, until you talk to zone or w/e, for everyone. however quotes should be excluded from size in screen pixels since they are within the character limits

Very true but loops hole and exceptions probably could be made, since over all his sig is tiny, though it does, with out an arguement goes over the height max. so definately check with zone to get the final word and remove any scepticism. EDIT: Looks like it was taken care of

It's not about ego, ffs. Its just about the crap I get for no real reason.

I get crap about everything from the fonts I use, to the ideas I post about, helping others understand whats wrong, and the size comment set me off. I feel un-justly singled out.
And the worst part of the whole thing is we all worked togather at Exalt, and I never once got the impression from anyone that I get now... So whats the problem?
Is this related to when I was a mod and edited out profanity? Was I a nazi because of it? Yes that is retorical.

As far as the sig goes, it's no big deal. I tend to make several a day. I'll ask Zone about how the size relates to text, and ask him directly about extending the size limitations to include text size. The point of the rule is forum stretching as much as it is load time.
I just don't understand where the hate comes from. If its personal hit the PM button, or e-mail me, whatever.

I don't see how I'm being egotistical, I'm simply making a point - and in a much more civilized fashion than most mind you. Maybe thats what the problem is... maybe you think I'm self-centered. But if that were the case, would I be sharing my knowledge, methods, and tricks with everybody?

It was a little big....Width is no real problem unless it forces the page to expand horizontally, but if you go too big in length it requires more scrolling and after a while it can get a little frustrating....It's no biggie man, we all keep within the general limits.

....and I think if you see it from Elstat's point of view, he can't just let you off because then he'll have to let everyone else off as well, otherwise he's giving special treatment. You're a good guy, noones giving you shit - just go with the flow....I can understand where you're coming from though, any smaller and noone probably would have noticed...

This is not out of bias towards you zen, its just what i gather from your posts. Alot of them seem very self indulgent and pretentious.. just the constant reference to your work as if its the end all to photoshop knowledge. I don't have any thing against you as a person zen, i just dont see what all the fuss is about when it comes to your ps work. I also think you should tone it down when it comes to trying to change the site. Maybe i'm the only one, but a person who leaves for 3 months, returns with a new account and then starts to try and change every aspect of the site.. annoys me.

Until now, no-one has bothered to actually say that suggestions are annoying. They are just suggestions, nothing more. Ideas pop in, I type. I do that often and had no idea it was in the slightest way upsetting.

I use my work simply because I made it. I cannot show someone how to make your sig, because I didn't make it. How can I show someone how to make something I didn't make? No offence, but to use someone elses work as a basis for instruction is ridculous.

thats exactly how i feel, and then i was just trying to make you keep within the limits nothing more, nothing less.

To be clear on the sig size issue...

The 450x150 limit is for the image and does not include any supplemental text.. The forum limits the amount of text that one can use.

I may alter the sig size to accommodate a wider image, but I'm hesitant to alter the height.

When I decide what to do, I'll let you know. Until then, everyone kindly STFU.

Like I said, if you read my post - Width has no bearing and doesn't make a difference unless it's forcing the window to expand horizontally, whereas vertically every extra 50 pixels makes a big difference when scrolling through a thread.

Also, we all agreed that if it's over by anything under 10 or 20 pixels it's fine....

Well if it is a rule, it is a rule. Just saying that if we were gonna drop it hard on everyone, then everyone should be included.

Dropping it hard? Elstat simply told him like he tells everyone else whose sigs go over a certain limit. Zen wondered why and we explained. This has been blown out of proportion.

Fact remains - You can't go around looking at EVERYONES sigs and checking them all. It's just the ones that stand out and are obvious, in other words, over by a large fraction such as 20 pixels and up....

I hardly think 4 pixels over horizontally is even noticeable - You would have had to right click on my image to find out that it was over by 4 pixels.....The only reason you'd do that is if you were LOOKING for reasons to hassle me....Fuck off.
