pretty much same for me.

rays mother and father are both EXACTLY like my grandparents. They look exactly the same and act exactly the same. It's really weird.

9mm BeRetTa 05-16-2005 07:42 PM

That show is great, I usually watch reruns of it all the time and some of the newer episodes. Sadly I just got home and missed both the behind the scenes and the finale so I'm pissed.

To tell you the truth...

All of my friends are addicted to shows like these, Seinfield and stuff, but I have never really found them all too funny. Im more of Simpsons guy..American Dad is catching on, too...Family Guy is horrible.

Whoa, whoa, Family Guy is horrible? Family Guy is twenty times more funny than the new Simpsons, which im greatly dissapointed in at the moment. Family Guy is by far the funniest show on tv.

strvs 05-16-2005 07:51 PM

Yea the new simpsons have completely lost their edge, the characters seem to have way different personalitys than they normally do, and the plots never seem to come together.. So half assed. They should fire their writers.

Doctor Duffy 05-16-2005 07:52 PM

Its nothing but random jokes the entire time...people arguing and a chicken pops out to punch the dad..harharhar.. its nothing but randomness, with wierd things popping out of absolutely nowehre. Nu Simpsons sucks, yeah, but American Dad is great.

strvs 05-16-2005 07:55 PM

American dad is just as random as family guy, if not more...

Umm, just because you havent really watched the show, isnt a reason to hate. In an early episode Peter gets in a fight with a chicken, for some reason, Family Guy has a lot of long running joke that are hilarious. (like the evil monkey). And the randomness is hilarious to me.

I dunno, American Dad to me is more "inside-jokish", though you dont truly have to be on the "inside" to understand the joke, just keep up with the papers and news (like the Whitney Houston scene last night..haha, I choked on that). I saw no randomness at all, all the jokes had to do with what was going on.

When I mean randomness, I mean, well, like what I just said...a chicken pops out of absolutely nowhere and starts beating the dad up (Family Guy last night). I dunno, I just find those things lame, I like well-thought-out plot-lines (like the early Simpsons..I loved the transitions from one plot to another every episode).

TonyMontana 05-16-2005 08:00 PM

I started watching Everybody Loves Raymond after Seinfeld finished, and is really the only comedy sitcom I really enjoy, maybe because it has a lot of crap I can relate to, I don't know. The finale was good, not great, but it was better than Seinfeld's IMO.

The chicken scene happened for a reason, he gave him an expired coupon. If you would have saw that episode you would have got the joke.

anti 05-16-2005 08:02 PM

I watched it. It wasn't bad, but E.L.R was never that funny to me. I'm (partially) with Duffy, I don't find Family Guy as funny as everyone says it to be.

Coleman 05-16-2005 08:10 PM

i am a loyal fan of the show. I watched the final episode and to tell you the truth, it was a big disappointment. It seemed so...uh...uneventful for lack of better terms.

Tripper 05-16-2005 08:18 PM

Not a ELR fan. Seinfeld, Simpsons, and Family Guy all pwn. I like new Simpsons FAR better than old Simpsons....Way more jokes packed in for me too laugh at - Not to mention the animation almost gets slicker and more clean cut as the seasons go on.

Zoner 05-17-2005 07:41 AM

Thank Jeebus this show is over. Ray Romano is about as funny as a ball of dryer lint.

The Simpsons: Has lost a bit of edge, but I still love it.
Family Guy: My current favourite 'toon. Kills me every time.
American Dad: Not diggin' this so far. The alien with the Paul Lynde voice is annoying. The german goldfish is pretty funny, though.

Airborne Butters 05-17-2005 10:58 AM

I wasn't a huge fan of the show, but it was pretty funny. The finale was a bit week I though and could have been funnier. Either way, it's sad that a show running that long and well is now over. Like Buck Said 'It's Seinfeld all over'

TonyMontana 05-17-2005 11:06 AM

Everybody Loves Raymond is practically the last of the 90's sitcoms (Friends, Seinfeld, etc)....Which IMO were the best years for television. Nowadays TV is the crapper.

elstatec 05-17-2005 11:24 AM

only seen it once as its on over here in the earrrly early time of the morning, 4am ishhhhhh. looked good but never caught my attention as something i would plan to watch regulary

No way? I hate the new ones with a passion, all the jokes do is reflect a characters sterotype or just plain arent funny. Sure it may have it's moments, but there's simpsons episodes that have alot more laughs. The ones from the mid-early to late 90's were and still are fucking hilarious, imo. Seasons 3 - 11 or so. ( 1991 - 99 )

I dunno why - I just seem to laugh more often at the newer ones....I liked the older ones too, because I've always liked The Simpsons, but for some reason most of my friends agree, whereas most people I talk to on the net disagree.....

To be honest, hfwuehfeuhqdf97823yhej2qhndxmqwn.

Stammer 05-17-2005 01:52 PM

I'm not one for the sitcoms and reality TV but the few shows I watch are Family Guy, and The Simpsons. Although I'm going to have to agree with Tripper that I think the newer Simpsons are funnier, not to say however that the older Simpsons weren't funny.

Proteus 05-17-2005 02:05 PM

If it's on I'll watch it. I liked the humor in it.

[DAS REICH] Blitz 05-17-2005 08:52 PM

I don't like the chicken gag on Family guy. Yeah, its somewhat funny, but I think both of the fights he had with the chicken went on 1 min to long, and I honestly wasn't really laughing at it. I think that kind of stuff isn't really my humor.
But besides that, the show is great especially the witty and random jokes. I think my favorite part of that episode, though, was when Peter said to the pregnant women to start having the baby since she has been pregnant for 6 years, which I found hilarious because I was thinking the same thing when I saw her.

Eight Ace 05-17-2005 09:23 PM

..you know, it always struck me as ironic that the show was called
everybody loves raymond...because I absolutely hated the cunt.
